And it was fine that UKIP and Boris and Michael and others used ideology and waffle to persuade the impressionable. Politics is fun again. Just a protest vote that has got way out of hand really. A protest against what? The well balanced Utopia we were all nonchalantly bathing in?

Not really. More a way out of the easily corruptible United States of Europe before it inevitably happens. Well, that's no short-term likelihood. And I've yet to see a convincing argument that it's either likely or, should it happen, negative. What are you worried about here?

It's odd that you take his view on Brexit yet support Scottish Independence (well, probably like 'Indyref2' posts on Facebook). One cannot help but think that your thinking is not consistent.

Frankly, the fact that there has been largely peace because of the EU is one of the main reasons that I thought we'd be better off in.

Having open borders with unvetted immigration from countries like Syria into the EU will make Europe safer?

Due to NATO and the nuclear deterrent and particularly the USA guaranteeing to fight for us if the USSR invaded. All of which the left has sought to weaken since World War II. EU has had nothing to do with the relative peace in Europe - mind you they did nothing at all about the Balkan wars did they.

Frankly, the fact that there has been largely peace because of the EU is one of the main reasons that I thought we'd be better off in. Given that the EU was founded in 1993, it is somewhat fanciful to claim that it was responsible for peace in the 'second half of the 20th century'. believe that NATO has been largely responsible for peace in Europe since 1945.

The point is that countries in the EU will not go to war against each other as they live in peace and security. Two World Wars were started by Western Europe countries mobilising against each other. The Balkan countries are not members of the EU. The EU has been very successful in this respect as war between EU members is quite unthinkable.

We ought to have started a war with America, but I bet bloody Brexit will put pay to that now.
