Seems like yesterday , that is where I used to stand and then walk over to behind the goal later on in the game.free to walk nearly all round the pitch.ticket a Gilberts pie tea all for 10 shillings.Todays money 50pence. Great picture. Before my time but I remember relatives saying that you could wander freely from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse or vice versa as the fancy took you. I'm told that the grass bank at the back of the AW was a good place to lounge on a sunny early season game.

Looks like the entire Palace was still standing when this was taken, so would be pre 1936. At this time,I think all the FA Cup Finals were played here. I think the first FA Cup Final at Crystal Palace was in the late 1800s and I think the last one was in 1914 but the final was also played in other venues in between.

This is me playing in goal for Sylvan High School in the Croydon Schools Cup Final in 1980.
Looking at these pictures of Selhurst brings back fond memories of all kinds,13-16 years old id be outside the programme shop at 10 am buying almost every programme I could afford them
