Queue the old Simon Bates Our Song music .... About 18 months after I separated from my first wife a couple I was good friends with said they knew of a woman in a similar situation - fairly recently separated, 2 children,not currently in a relationship. Apparently she was keen to meet new men and they in turn mentioned me to her. So, they just gave me her number and left it to me to call her. Bravely I took the bit between my teeth, phoned her and we arranged a date to meet at a pub - a real BLIND DATE. Although my mate David reassured me she was "nice" I was inevitably still nervous and cautious. Anyway she was "nice" and we have been together for almost 16 years.
