so by the logic of this, hamsey green will have half of it under tier 2 the LB Croydon bit but the Surrey County Council bit would be tier 1 happy days? Edited by thegreatlardino (15 Oct 2020 6.06pm)

I just feel it is only a matter of time before we have a national "Circuit break".In all likelihood a 4 week "Sunset clause". This country is being sacrificed on the altar of fighting Covid. Edited by Willo (15 Oct 2020 6.20pm)

If tier 3 the employees get 66% pay but the business gets no trade being closed.

Burnham wants the 2-3 National lockdown. Said it before this. He is moaning about the 66% and it would appear he wants a full "Lockdown" as he believes this will force the Government into paying Furlough at 80%. This is what it is all about. Edited by Willo (15 Oct 2020 6.26pm)

Here in Scotland the First Minister has asked Sky to show Saturday’s Old Firm game for free to stop fans travelling to pubs to watch it. Living up here I’m not sure whether Palace fans in London are allowed to watch the Brighton game in the pub now, but if not I’m sure Mayor Khan will be asking Sky to do the same for us, so none of us hop over the border into Surrey. Oh, hang on a moment....

In the week WHO finally admit lockdowns cause more damage than good, as a country we move towards lockdowns masquerading as a tiered system. The first one was excusable as we all copied China's approach (which was a deviation from any pre 2020 pandemic response) in desperate hope it would work. Now we have evidence that peak was before lockdown anyway combined with WHO saying lockdown is last resort, what we are doing now is inexcusable. Locking down healthy people, ruining economies and causing a spike in cancer and other non-covid deaths is a disgrace. NHS Data still suggests excess deaths is "not statistically significant" for last few weeks in their own words. We have heard people say "but in 2 weeks it'll be dreadful" for about 12 weeks now so please don't say that either. COVID is real, and it needs managing but lockdowns are not the method. Encourage via guidelines (not law) social distancing, hand washing and vulnerable people staying in (if they want to) and that is enough. Edited by cardiff eagle (15 Oct 2020 9.13pm)
