Brexit could definitely be a success. But the degree of faith I have in the current government, who managed to f**k up a dead cert landslide election makes me want to say they could burn a f**king salad.

You lot contradict yourselves at pretty much every corner. It's literally like a religion.

Does Stirling think that the referendum was called by the EU for example ?

Parliament is stuffed full of remainers yet you quote the white paper at me.....Even the PM's and most of the Tory front bench are remainers.

Steeleye20, I'm not saying you're dim, but if you were a lightbulb I'd need a replacement.

Do you know the meaning of the word 'literally'?

So you do think that we are not sovereign in which case the EU did call the referendum.

If the PM is still a remainer and you honestly think we're gonna achieve *more* with her at the helm, not "maybe the same in 5/10/20 years" then I really don't know where else to go with this to be honest. If leave was such a good idea, why did Nige and co consistently talk about Switzerland and Norway? Every single interview, debate, Question Time appearance. "Switzerland, Norway, Switzerland, Norway" Oh yeah, because he was manipulating the country into believing that there are other countries out there who freely trade with their neighbours in the largest economic block in the world without having to abide by all those "silly regulations" by those "unelected buerorcrats in Brussels", who seem to love nothing more than pissing Britain off. But yeah it turns out that's not true is it. This idea that we're gonna go accross the world with our 65 million customers and have a trading arrangement that's more prosperous for us than the single market without any regulation is delusional beyond belief. No one wants the country to fail, so you can throw that at me all you want, but at least be honest. The only reason for Brexit is not liking immigration, it winds me up when people don't admit that, the rest of the argument is twisted and stupid mantra about control and sovereignty that is exposed time and time again.

Yes, in this context it's used for emphasis whilst not being exactly true. I.e. You don't all sit down and pray to Nigel Farage but you still follow something that rejects every piece of evidence, logic and expert opinion.

It's already a success. For those that wanted 'out' no matter what. Ask Stirling or Dave.

The sad thing is they will never ever concede that either.

Only if it directly affects them very negatively - other people don't matter - would they even consider the opposing arguments and a reality and even then they would have to bashed around the head with their P45s and last pay packet in coins for about a week for it to sink in.

Actually it would not be a great surprise to me that brexit is not about the UK leaving the UK but the opposite.

The EU is leaving the UK.

Got space for one more on the boat?
