I heard a report on Talksport of the game he played in. England started with him as a wing back and the reporter said he was lost. Eventually Boothroyd switched to a flat back four and he was fine. Maybe he didn't play in the second game because of that?

He is a young lad and will get better but he will need to learn the wing back position if he wants to play for England.

I think he can easily play as a wing back. But will just have to adapt to the system. Has all the attributes to be a classy wing back.

Although, I’m not so sure the back 3 at England will stay as long as people believe it will anyway. I don’t actually think it’s anywhere near as revolutionary as we’re forced to believe. And if anything, we’ve kinda missed the boat of it being brought back into fashion and surprising teams. It’s getting a bit old again and that’s a reoccurring theme with back 3’s in football.

Go in and out of fashion every 10 years or so.
