The Curious Case of Wilfred Zaha

Seems unlikely to ever change but of course, gets nearly complete forgiveness by the club and fans as he is such a good player. Teams have easily sussed him out- look at Southampton, Watford, Bournemouth - the games are like pantomimes. Will’s sending off at Southampton was essentially over a throw-in and that little rat did a job on him. He does get fouled an extraordinary amount of times (a lot are not given) but surely he must know that he does not help himself. He must be able to see that. If he goes to a big club, it will be a lot different. He will be surrounded by better players so will not have to do it all himself, he will get more decisions with the standard unconscious bias and of course, the club will not have to make so many concession to accommodate him. All of that said, I will be absolutely gutted to see him go. When he plays, you have a chance

Think his age is now a consideration for interested parties, he is out now through injury ....again.

I don't like him but Grealish is the most fouled player in the Prem - both last season and this, by quite a way.
He doesn't react in the same way.
It is possible to be fouled and not react the way Wilf does.

Grealish has good attacking players around him doesn't he, you do understand we don't, so Grealish has better balls to him and better players to make the most of what he does on the pitch, not rocket science.

How many wonderful opportunities does he create for our non existent strikers to run onto and also not make themselves available for his pass.

If he was as good as you are making out then he would be able understand and appreciate the capabilities of those around him and play to those. You could play the most wonderful pass in the world, but if there's no one on the end of it then it's completely useless, a wasted pass, the wrong decision, completely woeful! I don't get this nonsense about Wilf will necessarily be better with better players around him. Don't forget he played for Man United. If you do have a spread of world class players around you it then does not matter who gets the ball. With Palace especially in the last few years it is get the ball and give it to Wilf. Hence he is heavily involved in all out attacks. He will therefore get more opportunities to create chances and score goals. When he was at Man U the play was shared around and he did not stand out in the same way he does for Palace.

I don't get this nonsense about Wilf will necessarily be better with better players around him. Don't forget he played for Man United. If you do have a spread of world class players around you it then does not matter who gets the ball. With Palace especially in the last few years it is get the ball and give it to Wilf. Hence he is heavily involved in all out attacks. He will therefore get more opportunities to create chances and score goals.
When he was at Man U the play was shared around and he did not stand out in the same way he does for Palace.

His options Abroad ? No don't think so with new young family. Wants Champions League football , Cant realistically see him holding down a regular place in the top 4/6 .His age is also a factor ? Plus the asking price we would want .Tough one for him for sure .Personally I think he has left it 2 or 3 years late to make move for himself.

I don't recall him even playing! Moyes didn't want him full stop.

It's a fact that if you play with players around you who are capable of controlling the ball as well as you can then you're going to make less mistakes.
