Yeah, Labour's stance on Brexit is crystal clear and the party are completely unified on the approach.

That article was written by a Tory MSP Brexiteer who was part of the Leave.EU campaign. Hardly an unbiased source. Groups he's part of have lead campaigns to get Tories deselected who aren't ardent Brexiteers (most prominently spreadsheet Phil). Leave.EU was Farage's motley crew and not the official Leave Campaign.

I would therefore dismiss it entirely as anything other than extreme partisan bias against a party whose stance is to maintain the single market status for as long as it takes to get a deal which replicates or betters its benefits (i.e. ages).

The Tories' stance is much more muddled than Labour's

And how many Labour MP's did?

How many Tories ran straight out of the chamber to propose significant amendments to the bill. Their votes are simply to avoid toppling their own government not in support of a dictatorial cliff edge mental Brexit.

I've got my remoaner 'unsubstantiated whinging rhetoric' bingo card out - anyone else want play?, and i've already got an early hit there fore 'cliff edge'. If I could get an "extreme brexit" and a "no one knew what they were voting for" out of you fairly soon i'd be well on my way to getting a line.

Now to actually answer your point... It doesn't matter if people amend the bill, hell i'd probably support most of the amendments myself. What matters is getting brexit through one step at a time in some way shape or form, not shooting the whole thing down because a few democratic results didn't suit your own personal agenda....

You didn't answer the questions and instead set you're own....Is this a 'progressive' thing?

Well, you didn't set those questions to me, but I'll answer them anyway.

Dictatorial.....nope, that's the EU, who you support.

Brexit is the opposite of that......We had a vote and brexit won. The form of Brexit is for the politicians to decide on.....For now.

Genuine question; are all you Brexiteers genuinely happy with how things seem to be going currently?

You post this on the day of the "state of the union"?! The event where the EU desperately attempts to confer legitimacy to itself as a fledgling democratic unified superstate.

Did you read the s*** they have in the can? Is this the "we're listening to your concerns" EU populism drive? Who are they appealing to?

I'm happy. Very happy merely by virtue of leaving the monstrosity. I'd be a crap negotiator, because by this stage I'd be signing anything under my nose to get us the hell away for what's in store for the remaining "member states" (remember never to refer to them as countries in their own right - they need to get used to their subjugation and capitulation).

But otherwise, yeah. It's fine. I'd want more teeth from the UK, a firmer stance, and some hard lines on the consequences of continued negative briefing from the EU side, but that's not really the British way. I'd prefer walking away and setting up a trade deal with them when they can't use the two year Damocles sword to pressure us into a deal we'll regret. I genuinely worry they will try to bind us in a huge network of interlinked inflexible bilateral agreements with guillotine clauses designed to bring the whole agreement down. This is what the Swiss have to put up with.

Meanwhile, idiots on here actually believing all the briefing and handily leaked nuggets from the EU side, blissfully ignorant of the tactics they've used in the past in very similar circumstances against the Greeks (Go read some Varoufakis). It's kind of cute watching them naively swallowing the misinformation mainlined from the EU and regurgitating it on here. Stupid British! Thick Tories! Incompetent Davis! Useless Government! Bigot Brexit! Brexs***!

Go watch the "state of the union". Go read the last 5 president's report. You can thank us leavers later. Or don't bother, not fussed.

Will the uberarmy will try and invade us?

Don't member states have power of veto on any of the (in places quite ludicrous) report?

The Germans do have form on this - and the French and Dutch come to that.

Did Sir David Norgrove, the stats guy, actually read what Boris said:
"Once we have settled our accounts, we will take back control of roughly £350 million per week. It would be a fine thing, as many of us have pointed out, if a lot of that money went on the NHS, provided we use that cash injection to modernise and make the most of new technology."
Norgrove's intervention calls into doubt the neutrality of his office into doubt - similar to the sniping of the Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of Boris is that good men do nothing.

Well done stats guy for speaking out.

Theresa May saying we'll continue to pay for certain EU funded policies after 2019 . . .
