The blokes top level career is over and I pray to god that he is moved on. Iv nothing against him and he has been unlucky with injuries but he needs to be moved on.

Even when fit Wickham is not especially good. He has (or had) some good attributes but never looked like he knew how to make best use of them. His positioning was odd. When we would get down the wing he tended to drift around at the edge of the box as if he was Dennis Bergkamp when he should have been right through the middle, making bursts to attack crosses, as he did so brilliantly at Wembley. He had a little something, but we aren't missing out on some great lost talent here. I wouldn't be surprised if we allowed him to train with us on a non-contract basis, as we did with Clyne for a bit. Who knows, perhaps he can last for three months in training without an injury? If so, perhaps he hasn't played his last game for us, even if he doesn't get a contract this summer?

Whilst most of his injuries have been muscular the ACL one does raise questions. Usually this is a 9 month to 1 year layoff. With Connor it was 2 years. So clearly something went wrong in his rehab. Whether we pushed him too quickly or he overdid things we will never know but clearly something went horribly wrong.

Not for his bank account!

He has been unavailable to play for over 1000 days of his contract with us, due to injury.

There's no room for sentiment here. He offers absolutely nothing and must go at the end of his contract.

But he's never fit and not that good when he is. If he gets another contract he must have a dodgy dossier on Parish or someone else with some influence!

It does seem strange that such a big bloke picks up injuries so easily.

A crucial component of being a professional sportsman is remaining fit. He has been injured for the first 2/3 of the season and has played 0 minutes of first team football. This is not a one off his injury record over the previous 5 years has been poor, even taking into account the ACL injury, which clearly wasn't his fault. Time to cut our losses.
