I got an Andros Townsend coat hanger. It's perfectly happy if you put it on the right hand side of my wardrobe. Otherwise it becomes totally ineffective.

My wife informs me that one can purchase velvet coat hangers from 'WILKO' for £3 each so I might buy some.

Plus velvet isn't rigid, so I can only presume it's lined with plastic for rigidity.
