Personally I’d have taken Lazio and living in Rome. Finished second last year so automatically in the CL group stage.Napoli fell straight into disarray having won it so a chance at a scudetto. Turkey is a low league in standard, obviously didnt think he was up to a competitive league anymore. Its hardly challenging himself, even Sorloth could shine in Turkey, but nowhere else.

Looking at his face in the videos. It does not look like a man who is confident in his decision. I will be surprised if he is there longer than a year. Personally. I am not happy to see him leave but I am delighted the saga is over and we can move on.

I was sure he would stay at Palace, so I'm disappointed. I am also very surprised that he has chosen to go to a club where old dogs go to die. The Turkish league is not even in the top 5. Very sad. Perhaps he knows his career is winding down rapidly.

Good luck to Wilf hope he succeeds in Turkey, thought he might have set his sights a bit higher than Galatasaray. But I wish him well, now for us to get some players in, because we badly need to strengthen now!

You are right, Hrolf. If I'm looking at the correct data, it's ranked 13th in Europe according to UEFA. Lower than Scotland. I don't particularly care where he goes, but I'm baffled why anyone being courted by clubs in the top leagues would choose Turkish obscurity. Furthermore, assuming his pay will be somewhere near to what we and other clubs were reportedly offering, where the hell does a Turkish club get hold of that kind of money?
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Gala have two rounds of qualifying to navigate to reach the group stage of UCL. with Lazio he would have been straight into the group stage and playing for a club with serious Scudetto ambitions. So a strange choice. Maybe it’s the name - Galatasaray means Galata Palace in Turkish
