Hopefully only rumors. Not a good feeling about this guy, reminds me of another AH from Central Europe.

Alan Hansen was from Scotland.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Seems their incredible journalist investigative abilities can't decide if he is Swiss or Austrian

As an excuse for the journos, Hütter was born in Hohenems/Austria which is located one or two kilometers next to the Swiss border.

Basically it’s either Roy or someone foreign we don’t know or someone British that we know but has failed somewhere or British that is doing well but hasn’t PL experience

I'm trying to work out if that describes every manager in the world, or who it would exclude.

Basically excludes anyone proven and beyond any doubt. Outside Roy & Guardiola not sure there are many. We’re taking a punt whoever we appoint.

For Hütter-lovers and Hütter-haters interested that's what Peter Linden, one of the leading footy-journos in Austria for decades and now retired, writes today about Hütter and a possible move to the PL on his blog, which Linden is running since he retired:

Adi Hütter was among the 75,000 spectators at the 1-1 draw between Bayern Munich and Manchester City at the Allianz Arena in Munich. During his stay, not a few people asked him about his plans for England, which he has made no secret of for weeks. In this sense, the Munich trip was also a preparation for the coach for a possible engagement in the Premier League. He wanted to watch Manchester City live for once. Hütter will be in England next week. He will have the chance to watch matches on Tuesday and Wednesday. Hütter will not be at the top clash between champions Manchester City and league leaders Arsenal. But he might be in Wolverhampton on Tuesday, when Crystal Palace play at the Molineux Stadium.

(…..Following one paragraph explaining the current manager situation in the PL and another paragraph providing some more detailed information about Palace….)

Hütter would take two assistants with him to England. The "fixed starter" is Styrian Christian Peintinger, who was at Hütter's side from 2015 to 2022 at Young Boys Bern, Eintracht Frankfurt and Mönchengladbach. The 63-year-old German Armin Reutershahn, who was part of Hütter's staff at Frankfurt and Gladbach in 178 games, joined Borussia Dortmund on 1 January and has an offer to extend his contract. There are several candidates for the coaching job at Selhurst Park, which is steeped in tradition, but so far no clear favourite has emerged. Hütter knows that, too, which is why he doesn't get nervous and does the best thing you can do when it comes to speculation: Not commenting on them.

So basically the next clue is if he turns up at Molyneaux he’s probably interested

Pretty sure he is interested to manage in the PL. In a former blog in March Linden reports that he is taking Football-English lessons by someone you may know - Johnny Ertl. The question is whether the clubs are interested in him.

Someone in awe of Man City with no English doesn't sound right for us. Our best is always with experienced English managers. They're probably the ones that understand the reality of Crystal Palace and don't actually believe the management speak bull that Parish tries to sell them.

I'm with you on this AS, the rumours about Hutter give me the colliwobbles.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Temper it with the fact that I'm nearly always wrong about Palace.
