How long for big Sam?

As long as possible to annoy the haters if we're safe into next season and players are improving and gelling.

That'll be interesting if he does quite well. How they take it.

I'm not sure how anyone who refers to the club's manager in such disparaging terms can call themselves a fan as in my book true fans only insult other teams' players and managers and not their own

Hopefully Sam is here for the long haul. He's making the right moves and is making more sense in his first few weeks than Pards did in his whole time at the club.

We may survive but we will never progress under fatty .He just aint one of us boring journeyman with a negative personna . Hopefully like pulis he will bail when he realises he cant make bucks on the side from the club.

Harsh words. I've never been a great lover of his playing style, but give the man a chance. But as the Pardew haters said, not too long this time though.

I'll back "fatty" all the way.The man knows what's wrong and at least he is trying to fix things.
It's all very well people complaining about his style of play, but you can only play to a style the available players are capable of playing.
Obviously our major failings are at the back,when that's sorted out and hopefully we are safe,then we can try to be a little more flamboyant.
Sam has a very difficult job and a very short time to do it.

I do wish people would have intelligent discussions instead of being rude and insulting, there has never been any evidence of any wrongdoing on Sam's part and to be honest survival is progress at this club, lets face facts we are never going to be any better than hopefully at best a mid to mid lower tables PL side which will be fine with me and much better than many of the past season stretching back to the third division south!

What a stupid topic !!
We are lucky to have Sam. Who'd ever imagine that we would have an ex-England manager? The man has a proven record and is our best chance of stability.
We have suffered from managers leaving for various reasons and Parish really stuck his neck out trying to get stability with Pardew - regretfully Pardew failed the team despite being given so much time.
I am delighted that we have a manager of such stature and I am happy to forgive and forget his past problems ( none of which were that bad anyway ). If we could take Pardew with all his baggage then we can't apply different standards to Sam.
I'm confident that with some transfer dealings Sam can sort us out for this season and I hope he gets his bonus which will be fully deserved. Next season he will be able to work with a clean sheet and show what he can do without having to do a defensive shoring up like now. Even if we do go down he is the perfect man to get an immediate bounce back. He has said how much he likes living and working in London so the signs are all good for the future. From us fans point of view we need to get behind him and forget about all this sh1te West Ham type moaning
