The acid test of Cabaye’s ability was how poor we were in midfield without him. He was never flashy, but you definitely knew when he wasn’t there. He was great at breaking up play, holding the ball and playing an intelligent pass out of defence. Pace was not an issue although I would agree about his set pieces. All in all he was a very good player and one we miss.

Schlupp looks just terrible sometimes. Clumsy, falling over himself, charging around out of position.

He won player of the month recently though dont forget, and has been playing better.

Taking Meyer off instead of Schlupp was just another step in the great Max Meyer stitch up that Roy is working on.

You lot are so fickle. A few weeks ago Jeffery was quite rightly being lauded for his performances.

Jeff brings some much needed speed and directness to the party. We are too slow and ponderous coming forward at home. We allow teams time to regroup as we pass the ball from side to side and struggle to thread balls through the eye of a needle.

In the meantime I notice the people slagging off Roy for not starting Meyer have gone quiet of late.

Does Schlupp have a chant? If not, we should make one. He deserves credit for the games he has come in. Especially when you take into account the position transition he has completed.

when he signed i thought he was an expensive luxery to have on the bench...however, he is the classic jack of all trades master of none player.

very versatile and wont let you down without ever being outstanding over a prolonged period of time.

players like him & kouyate at important to have in the squad when you cant afford 2 quality players in each position.

also managers love their type of player. thats why i dont get the continual negativity towards jimmy mac, schlupp & kouyate.

Jimmy Mac is miles ahead of Kouyate at the moment his only major negative is his lack of pace and he appears to be getting slower.
As for Schlupp, Such an unbelievably awful football player. Only that he is left footed he would not be playing pofessional football.

As much as Jimmy Mac has been a really good player for us I think his time is coming to an end which pains me to say considering the contributions he has made. I don't think we should let him go as I think he could still be an impact sub in terms of nicking a goal here and there and providing the odd assist.

Kouyate is very good at moving the ball forward and is nimble on the ball despite his gangly appearance plus his physical presence helps us retain or regain possession we have yet to see the real best of him.
