up until recently I have found Sclupp fairly average,I agree he has improved in recent games which has been great for us, however, I may be the only one who sees this but in my mind Schlupp is a striker waiting to happen. He's very fast and has an eye for goal. Believe he started life as s prolific youth striker. I would like to see him play up front in a 442 formation.. he's already scored more goals this season than all the centre forwards put together. Not saying he should start but could be a useful 3rd or 4th choice striker who may be able to get into double figures.

Er - sorry to go against the grain here, but don't forget that James Tomkins scored with a rather splendid header from a corner at Anfield recently, so it's not exactly like we never score from corners. Doesn't happen often though.....! With the size and physical prowess of all our centre backs (Sakho/Tomkins/Dann) + Tekkers of course, it's a source of bemusement that we are so ineffective with those set pieces. Same with free kicks of course.. A stat from may 2017 I saw reported we'd scored eight goals from 194 corners, 4.1 %. It did not report on goals conceded from break away's due to them.

Not sure he deserves all the flack that some Holers dish out in his direction. He can play for the whole match which I don't think Meyer is capable of at the moment, both are guilty of lapses of various kinds, he may not be so creative but he is tenacious and that is probably why he gets the nod in midfield, he also pops up in the right place to score goals on a fairly regular basis. Good post, I think Schlupp has 5 goals now, and in certain matches can be really effective. Concerning Meyer, McArthur seems more at risk of losing his starting position than Schlupp
