It has been 18 months since Isobel posted her essay and we have been to pretty much every home game since and have renewed our season tickets for next year BUT pretty much since Christmas time she has been slowly losing interest as she says the games are "so boring and nothing happens"

The whole "negative style" topic has been done to death on Palace Talk but it is driving fans away even those who were so passionate before.

It is not about winning, though that helps, it is about for Isobel (and me) seeing the players trying to score and putting some effort in - something that has been lacking.

We can't go to the next home game and to be honest neither of us are bothered at the thought of missing it..

Priceless.

Unfortunately I've had to move away from London with my job and live in the Yorkshire Dales which is full of Leeds Utd and Boro fans. My daughter aged 13 wears her Palace top about the local area with pride. It certainly attracts glances from the locals. Yes she could have swayed to support the likes of Man Utd like so many kids do. But being single minded and an individual she has chosen to follow the eagles.

A year last summer we were passing our local cricket club whilst on the way to do some shopping when we noticed a large group of lads stood around the cricket square. There must have been 20 or so. They were all wearing Palace Shirts. We had to turn round and investigate. True to form they were a touring club from the Croydon area. It sent a tingle down my back. I can now say that Palace have taken over my town. Well at least once.

Next game for us is the Hull match. I suggest you also try the Fish and Chips for anyone travelling. Hull only sing when they're fishing.

We took a vote and for having swayed away from Palace in a time of dark desperation (well s*** football) you have to give back the red and blue hero medallion.
