Back when i lived in London

I was origionally an Arsenal fan after following them to win the premier league unbeaten, my dad finally brought me to see the mighty Arsenal at you guessd it Selhurst park.

Somthing changed in me that day as Aki scored the equaliser i jumperd up in the arther wait cheering with the other Palace fans in that very moment in my heart i became a palace fan.

so i walked in an Arsenal Fan but walked out a Palace Fan, we then went into the club shop after wards and bought a scarf and palace top and long with a half year season ticket begiining in january.

I have since never looked back

Growing up in the late 60s, my first allegience was to West Ham. But as a six-year old in 1969, a rumour spread round the infants playground that Palace had signed Bobby Moore and we should therefore all support Palace. Personally I blame the school's only male teacher for starting the rumour, but it worked.

Went to see Palace play Stoke that season and never looked back.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!

My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

When I was a kid growing up in New Zealand in the 60s I used to listen avidly to the English football results on the radio and the name Crystal Palace just jumped out. I just became more and more fascinated by such an exotically named team.

Then when I went to London for the first time in 1973 and went down to Selhurst Park I was hooked. I also loved the sash on the shirt. The combination of the two just drew me in although I had no South London roots.I still get a tingle down my spine when I hear the name.

The sash shirt from the 80s
The stories from my Dad of 79 v Burnley
Floodlight games
the smell of cigars and bovril

And now the familiarity and nostalgia of going somewhere over and over. Been going to Selhurst now for over 30 years, not many places you visit over and over for such a long space of time..

Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in

Greetings from a Palace supporter, and new member from the states. I became a supporter back in the 80's. We would get one match a week here, and quite a few of them were Palace matches. Though I watched all matches and teams I just grew to love the gritty play style, and the tenacity of Palace. I was fortunate enough to visit England in 92, and of course I made my way to Selhurst to watch McGoldrick, Solako, and the rest of the team defeat Lincoln City 3-1. I'm such a huge Palace supporter I actually gave up the chance to see Chelsea vs Man U at the bridge to attend the match. Given the chance I'd do the same today.

I lived in west Norwood, Most of my earliest memories were sitting in the Arthur wait , through the years I've been able to watch our wonderful goals scored instead of being grabbed thrown or hiding in fear.
I think one of my favorite memories was going to Cardiff and watching our boys win promotion in more present times watching our boys beat Man U and shutting Brighton up at their own ground and ours.... Roll on march for their next beating.

When we win Saturday , we will have to play Brighton? And gives mill wall a chance in staying up?

My family has always supported Palace for as long as I can remember, thats if you don't count the other side who support... It's not woth mentioning!

I think for me besides grwoing up with Palace, it was Selhurst that got me hooked. Being a young lad sitting in the what felt like the biggest stand ever the Arthur was like wow! The atmoshpere was great, and seeing the team play in this couldron of noise got me hooked for more! Which is why I would be a tad sad if we left SE25.

And of course it's Palace, love football they were the first club I went to see play and I have loved it ever since!

It's sketchy, but my dad grew up supporting Palace since he was born in that area of London. As for myself, i was brought up in Crawley, but spent my young years in Devon. I think i was about 9 years old and watched Palace's penultimate televised game of the season where we won 3-2 at Middlesbrough during the 93/94 season, which got us promoted to the Premiership. After that, my support for Palace just grew and grew.

By default, i remember seeing the opening game of the 95/96 season where we beat Barnsley 4-3. That's the game i always refer to as my official induction into the Palace rollercoaster, i've never looked back since then.

My favourite memory will always be the day out in Cardiff when we beat the Spammers and won promotion, feels like yesterday! Most recent memories include the Ambrose cracker at Man U, followed by the B3ight0n demolition job at Selhurst last month. Hope we smash them again.

When I was about 6, my Dad took me took to Palace Vs Stoke in the old Division One. We won that match 6-3, and a funny memory was, that I cheered for all the goals even when Stoke scored! I'm afraid there isn't a moment that I can say I realised that I was Palace, but from the 06/07 season, I found myself being at nearly every home game!
