I have taken a lot of stick on here in the past especially from the pro Murray supporters for suggesting Glenn is just not up to this level.

So without being ultra stubborn do you still feel the same about him ?

This isn't a ' I told you so ' thread but the sarcy comments, abuse and general superiority in the tone of your definite comments regarding the 30 goal saviour haven't really been justified in reality wouldn't you agree ?

I want any player who wears the shirt to do well and they will always get my full support as long as they give 100% and FFS does and has been a legend for us with circumstances working for him ( great service from 2 great wide men in a lower level playing against lesser quality) and no doubt Glenn has attributes that are valuable, but really for us in the EPL.

I get the feeling that 99.2% of us agree that we need a front man signed this summer and as I know Glenn doesn't cover at left back or right midfield or keeper or even a wide forward so let me ask you this lets say we did sign this new front man and for argument sake he is called 'thommo' who would you have as thommo's back up ? Jerome ? Chamakh ? Or Glenn ? Bear in mind we have punch, bolasie, gayle as wide/ general front cover ie can play up top too if needed.

I am just trying to put logic to my argument bad stand back and look at the bigger picture and would respect the same back in any answers especially from the hard core Pro Murray brigade.

So if you do see a place for Glenn how would he fit into your team ( bear in mind we now have thommo and others as mentioned.

( breath thommo breath.)

Theres nothing to currently moan about so lets try and find a way to slate glenn murray and find a replacement for next season.
For the record i thought he done well when he came on yesterday

Glenn has only just come back from injury, which is why he has been coming on as sub for the last 15mins or so. What are you expecting?
He scored what? 30 goals last season.
I have no idea when his contract ends, but I hope he will be with us next season.
He is a lot better than C Jerome.

EDIT... I also think he did very well yesterday, he had at least two clear shots at goal if only his team mates had passed to him. Instead of trying at impossible angles themselves. Which is something Palace need to work on. Space and a sense of who is where.

Thommo, he had 20 minutes at the end of a match whilst he's still not 100% and we weren't providing any real service to him except a pumped up the middle ball every now and again. Do you really think that if Murray had got the kind of service he had last season and was 100% fit he wouldn't be scoring given that we know his game is not based on pace and given that we all know he has the ability to find the goal?

I think this is a fail thread based on a real lack of understanding of the injury he had and of football in general. On top of that why make a 'ner ner' thread on a palace hero when we've just won our third game in a row? Silly boy.

I don't think Chamakh is included in this list, as he has been playing behind the striker, and should probably stay there. Jerome's currently on loan and to sign him I reckon we'd have to pay 3 or 4 million. Despite his unbelievable work rate, I don't think he's worth that, and I can't see him being here next season. That leaves us with 'thommo', Murray and Gayle as the strikers.

He may not have scored many goals, but he's not started many games either. I think with a pre season under his belt, and a run in the side, he might start to score some goals. But I do agree we definitely need a new striker.

Murray's been out with injury for a long time so i never expected much from him this season. I think with a full pre-season & the Premiership experience from this year we will see Murray back to his best.

This little phrase is used to often...he played well last season, got 30 goals, thats his job then unfortunatly got that dreadful injury.

Not a legend in my eyes...YET.

Actually I didnt think he was that great yesterday, certainly not as good as Jerome when he went off.If I were a defender I would have been pleased to see the back of Jerome.

FFS can make it in the Prem...just not their yet.

What Gyro said. I would understand your frustration "if" he had a full match. He isn't up to scratch at the moment, but Pulis must have some belief in his ability if he is putting him on the pitch at all, nevermind the fact that he had a bad injury and hopefully he will be back next season in better form. Jerome and Bolasie although they give 100% most of the time, their aim is depressing.

i am a murray fan, and saw that when he first came he got a bit of stick. I knew if given the service, he'd score. And so he did. I still think that now.
However, i dont think he fits in with our style of play now. Unless this is only stage one of how TP wants us to play, and he implements something next season to accommodate glenn. I cant see it tho.
When he comes on now (usually for jerome), he cant do what jerome does. He's never been the quickest, and looks laboured compared to cameron.
If we could merge the two players into one, we'd have a hell of a player.
I think muzza can still score at this level, again, if given the service. If the wide men can deliver balls into him in and around the box, there's goals in him. Im not saying 30 goals, but he's our best finisher, id say, and would significantly add to our goal tally.
But sadly, i think he could be surplus to requirements, as Pulis' tactics dont suit him.

Yes. Jury is out at prem level for sure, but give the guy a chance ! I'll reserve judgement to seeing a fully fit FFS next season

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue

So this is your reasoned argument for him to play ? I do hope you don't become involved in politics and have to argue a community's problem through parliament.

So I ask you again where and how does he fit into your team ? Just in case you don't answer from what you have written I feel you think he should be our number 9 next season and start in every game if fit ? If not then please explain how he fits.. Come on wise boy lets have a grown up debate without your screaming kicking and crying, it's good to talk.
