As we all seem to agree - we need more goals next year - the question is who do we sign?

It is clear that the gulf between Championship and Premiership when it comes to scoring golas is huge. As an example take a look at the top 3 players in the Championship last season - Vydra, Murray and Ince - none has made an impact at the higher level this year. I know there has been injuries and Ince has not played many games, however with the best will in the world I can not see FFS scoring many next season.

So where do we look? I suggest having a look at Italy, where the defences are historically strong - if you can score there then the chances are that you are a good striker.

Lower leagues, Scotland and the Nordics are not the answer. So what do you think?

See your point but slightly harsh. Our AJ is an example that lower league players can step up. Paul lambert?

The key is that we get the right type of forward who can fit into Pulis style. A Cameron Jerome with goals would be great. However, a Cameron Jerome with goals would be playing for Barca!

I know we need a centre forward in the summer, certainly someone with Premier League goals in them.

But...... is that what Pulis is looking for ????

What I mean by that is he has stuck with Jerome who fits in to the Pulis system. A player who has run his socks off for 27 games with just 2 goals.

We can all see the system we play is a hard working centre forward who gives the back 4 a headache while the attacking midfield come up with our goals.

Jerome (2), Gayle (3) & Murray (1) is a poor return.

But........... the midfield goals have got us 11th

Chamakh (5), Puncheon (7), Ledley (2) and then the likes of Bannan & Ince with (1) each.

I think Pulis will be looking at the likes of Williams, Bannan, Guedioura & Thomas in the summer and see if they fit our system with goals.

I also think he will try and sign Tom Ince who certainly scores goals. We only seem to have him on loan as a bit of insurance really, he is certainly one for the future.

I personally would be looking at the teams who go down and look at their goal scoring midfielders / wingers.

It has been hard for Glen Murray to get back in the swing of things after such a long lay off. Next season he can start a fresh and see where we go from there.

Although bringing Glen on with 20 minutes to go has been useful, and he always does his fair share of closing down. Lets not forget it was his chasing down the ball at Swansea that got us the point and he nearly grabbed a winner too.

Don't think much will happen till after the World Cup. Might be some hidden gem at a rock bottom price on view.

I don't get all the Murray bashing going in this season! The poor blokes come back from a horrible injury and rehabilitation on the knee, and then had hardly any game time. He cNt come on form20 mins and walk straight back into banging goals in, and it's only really since Chelsea that we've started showing some attacking flair on the wings.

A full pre season behind him and I think he could be just as effective in the Prem.

If you look at Pulis form he will want a Jerome type with goals in him so I would think Aluko, Ba or Fletcher is the kind of player he would look at and see if we can afford them

Possibly abroad. Maybe Germany.

There's a few in the Championship you wouldn't say no to, but the best of them won't be cheap, and likely in demand too.

I've not seen anything from either of those two that suggest they can make the step and play the way Pulis would want them to...McCormack is at least a foot too short for a start!

Jordan Rhodes is the only player I can see that coudl potentially fit the bill.

I don't think we need to buy any strikers for next season for several reasons. We are not going to be able to afford a proven goal scorer who is current in the premiership and will also defend from the front - any anyone from outside the prem will take a long time to adjust - we may as well stick with Murray so he can find his feet again.
