We are 1 place below the Toon. I think there is a real chance of finishing above them if the Pardew revolution continues. Would be amazing if we had a player of his ability at Palace

Lets' not talk about any "Revolution" after 2 league games ! IF we lose our next two there will be talk of "Wheels coming off" and "Honeymoon period over" !

Since leaving the score in wins is

Pardew 3 Toon 0

True, however, 2 of those 3 teams who beat Newcastle were Chelsea and Southampton.

As for Cisse, he would be an awesome signing. One of the first things I thought when Pardew signed for us was:"I hope he brings Cisse with him"

I don't think we need Cisse, but i'd prefer the 2011-12 Cisse who scored goals for fun before going off the boil completely.

9 goals in 13 appearances this season. 32 Goals in 69 starts for Newcastle since he went there , if you think we will be signing someone with a better record in the premier you will be disapointed.

Newcastle dont look like winning any time soon, or investing in new players. Currently showing relegation form

Hard to see Ashley not selling for a profit, and Cisse was bought for something like £8.5 million so that's him out of our price range (unless Harris really is lurking with his wallet in the background this January).

If we signed him I would be absolutely f***ing ecstatic.

It's difficult to see about Newcastle at present, without a permanent manager I doubt whether there will any incomings and outgoings to their squad.

They need to sort a permanent manager very very quickly.

for the right price Ashely will always sell. I know it's only paper talk and gossip at this stage but what a difference a manager makes. Transfer Talk would look very different with Warnock in charge

Might be out of our price bracket .. but if we did sign him it would be a huge statement in terms of our development, another poster posted the analogy of shopping at M&S and this would deffo be a Waitrose purchase.

Observer's tales from the tabs reports us and Swansea are in for him - depends on his contract status, he may not be sold for any more than he was bought for, and he has slackened off a bit after his first season, could get him for around 7 mil, maybe significantly less if his contract ends this summer - we are not in the realms of fantasy here.

2 1/2 years left on his contract - this link says 1 1/2 years but I think that's an error (acc to Wiki) - £8 mil seems to be the asking price - the Chinese super money could tempt him, he's on 30k per week now, with 2 1/2 years of his contract left that's less than £4 million of salary to pay off, so we could get him for less, depending on whether he wants the Chinese money, life under Gary Monk (I doubt it) or a reunion with Pardew.

I would like this to happen, but if the source is true then I doubt Austin will want to move to Newcastle anyway!
