Wasn't the best performance ever, let's be honest. Load of misplaced passed under no pressure. Don't care how much their team cost and what they're playing for. Everton and Chelsea were playing for the league and Champions League. Are we going to get smashed by Fulham because they're fighting for their lives?

It is unbelievable that any Crystal Palace fan can have any gripes / complaints about how we played against Manchester City.

I get where the the OP is coming from! God knows why but I left the ground feeling dejected and disappointed if I'm honest. Did I expect us to win? No not at all but if you compared that performance to the Chelsea match then you might understand where I'm coming from.A fella in the railway club predicted that we would not be at the race's after safety was confirmed but I thought with the opponents we might still give it 100%. I took my son who doesn't get to see us often and he thought the fan's were better than the team!
I just hope we turn up and stop Liverpool winning the league on Monday!

GT

But GT on the Day Man City were far superior than Chesea.
City scored early and that was that really.

Chelsea at the end of the Day was a great Win, but we needed John Terry, John Terry, scoring goals for PALACE John Terry.!!!!

Need to be 0-0 with Liverpol at Half Time Monday.

Alan I totally agree even with Silva out of team, but there was definately something missing from our previous performances, although the timings of both goals are the worst you can possibly give the opponents in reality! I just thought the fella was not getting his point across and I tend to agree.
Not saying we did not do anything on sunday as we sort of held our own after the damage was done but turned into a training game for City.
The shoot on site of goal should have been adopted especially when chasing a game IMHO.
Still we will be more up for the Gerrard and co :-)

Due to health reasons I can't get to games these days but I watch them where I can from start to finish, I watched the palace city game and have to say that I was not as impressed with the lads as I have been. I felt we looked jaded and tired, jules was not controlling his area and I felt was at fault for the first goal, we knew that toure would be a handful but nobody was able to control him in fact we never looked as if we got anywhere near him .
I have to say this was the first game where we looked particularly inferior. I love palace but really hope that the whole team shows up this Saturday and give their all. This was summed up by an article that I read, " this game , palace were not the threat that was expected of them". My thoughts are with a heavy heart I hate criticising the guys they have done fantastic just don't think we played the Palace way last Sunday.

The players stepped off the gas, meaning to or not - it's all in the head - being safe that was always going to happen -secondly, they are mentally and physically shattered.
Thirdly, we played the possible league champions.
So we got beat, we weren't hammered or embaressed - it happens.

You are conveniently forgetting that Man City is a superior squad to both Chelsea and Everton, and that no matter how fired up Fulham is, you can't compare Fulham to Man City because it's like comparing the Argentine national team to the Armenian national team.

I sincerely hope we don't turn into a lot that complain about coming 5th because we didn't qualify for the Champion's league, as it already seems like we're becoming a lot who complain about losing our most difficult game of the season the week after securing Premier League existence for another year.

MOST IDIOTIC, RIDICULOUS AND IGNORANT POST I HAVE EVER READ ON HERE...and thats saying something.

We are 11th in the Premier League after nearly going out of business 4 years ago.

In that same time frame Man Citys Net spend has been over £400m.

If you are a troll then i have bitten big time but if not, then you are the very type of fan i feared would quickly emerge following our very brief but incredible run in the PL.

For 62 minutes, probably the best performance of any team that came to Selhurst Park this season largely down to one man. Toure is a force of nature. We simply had no response to him.

Had Liverpool won and Toure been injured, the story could have been very different.

To whinge about the team taking their foot off the gas is simply rubbish. We were beaten by a brilliant performance. The moment Toure went off, the balance shifted. We were ineffective up front; we held out solidy in defence; they had the majority of possession. That is, the pattern of just about every game we have played this season.

We lost 2-0 to the most expensive club side on the planet playing any sport whatsoever. not only that but they were fired up after the Liverpool result.

We were not packing out flip flops but most certainly were browsing possible holiday destinations.

I am sorry that the OP is in poor health but surely that has been helped by our wonderful performance not only this season but constant improvement since the advent of CPFC2010.

Shame shame shame on those posters who feel they can pick at the performance on Sunday, Appalling support for a team of players who have played out of their skins over and over this season.
Everything has already been said about the quality of City, it seems a bit mindless to not be able to accept that some teams for various well documented reasons are better than us, and that our achievement in dulling their impact to two goals was quite an achievement in itself.
I look forward to our game on Monday and celebrating with the team at the end of it, the magnificent achievements our team have produced for us repeatedly this season.
What is the definition of a nigel....I don't really know but this sort of picky unrealistic expectation seems to just plain babyish.

I don't think we played with the 'desperation' (couldn't think of a better word) that we have in previous games where we throw everything on the line, that said, can completely understand why.

Great season, no real rivalry with City and they are new enough rich that everyone doesn't hate them as much as they do e.g. Chelsea yet...Has been a long hard season and the players have worked so hard all season that I don't begrudge them taking their eye off the ball for this one.

Also the atmosphere reflected the fact that most are anticipating the Liverpool game as 'the big one' (out of what were the remaining fixtures), as there is some 'rivalry' (at least perceived) between us and 'Pool due to the Euro ban and the 9-0/4-3 games etc.

(Not saying we didn't play well against City etc, just that if you watch us verus any of the other 5 teams we played, we looked less intense - plus the early goal hampered our game plan to some extent).

I am hoping we step up for the Liverpool game.

3-0 to City on aggregate has got to be one of the best aggregate scores against them this season?

Maybe some supporters would rather it had been Yeovil we were playing on Sunday, bloody hell how can anyone be unhappy with watching us lose to that Manchester City side? I more or less went to the game knowing we would lose and relaxed for the day to watch us play a calss side which is what happened.
