Maybe Rodgers does deserve it, but not for taking Liverpool from 7th place to 2nd in only a year. The remarkable way in which he skilfully guided them from 1st place to 2nd in only a couple of weeks was truly a joy to behold. Well done, Brendan.

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong

Well, I think it was either one or the other; and Liverpool have played the most exciting football in this division. Very easy on the eye. To get 2nd by playing lovely flamboyant football [other than e.g. the score once and then park the bus Chelsea way] deserved the big prize.

Pulis was the Prems MOTY - also deserved for reasons given by others.

If you can't defend, and your midfield cannot close off games, then you're only playing 33% of the football well. Defensively liverpool were shocking, and outside of Coutino and Gerrard their midfield was very average.

Football isn't about scoring goals, its about not conceeding them. Rogers inability to shore up his midfield and defence speak of a 'one trick pony' rather than a great manager.

By the time the premiership finished, we were increasingly successful in all aspects of the game.

????

Is that a joke, whilst I agree all teams need a tight defence, without goals you'll draw every game.

I think people are getting too carried away, Rodgers had a great season and well done to Liverpool.
TP got a deserved award and we are potentially entering the best period in our clubs history, lets just enjoy it

As determined by statistical analysis of games. Not conceeding is far more significant factor in obtaining points, than scoring. Obviously you can't win games by not scoring goals, but its less important than conceeding goals - See Soccernomics.

The sign of a really good form in a team is one that keeps clean sheets. Even if it only wins games 1-0 or draws 0-0

Interestingly, in terms of scoring goals, the second goal scored in the game will determine the result in more games than not.

Consequently, I say football is about not conceeding goals, rather than scoring them. You still have to be able to score goals, but its far less important than not conceeding goals.

It should have been between Pullis and Martinez at Everton.

We all know what Pullis has done for us, Martinez has done a great job for them this season, some good loan signings and on less than half the budget of Liveerpool. For me a much better achievment than what Rodgers has done

That is a point worth highlighting. When you think about it for half a minute it's not surprising that it is so. We will do well to get to that stage where we can go 2-0 up or draw level to 1-1 and salvage a draw or even a win more often.

Brenda took them from 7th to 2nd, TP took us from bottom to 11th. A feat never previously achieved by any manager. Previously the highest a change of manager had managed to take a team was 3 places above where he found them. TP took us up 9 places!

There may well have been far fewer points dividing the teams in the bottom half of the table until the last couple of weeks as I seem to recall that the points difference between the team in 10th place and the relegation zone was only a few points at one stage.

Whilst it may well be true that "Previously the highest a change of manager had managed to take a team was 3 places above where he found them" let's not forget that Pulis wasn't the only manager to break that record as Gus Poyet did it too

Why don't you sign up to a Sunderland site and you can be amongst your own.

Why don't you find a site devoted to people with low IQs and you can also be amongst your own
