I don't think that you go to places like that for cheap drinks; another way of looking at is that the drinks are free, you are paying for the "ambience". Over the years patrons of Harry's Bar have included Ernest Hemingway, Charlie Chaplin, Orson Welles, Aristotle Onassis, Alfred Hitchcock and Woody Allen, am. While you are unlikely to see any of those guys there nowadays (Woody Allen's still a possibility though), who knows who may be there this weekend? Pretty sure I saw David Mellor. Good luck.

I was 11 in 1965 when I was last there! I can remember a glass blowing factory behind the main square, and loads of ice cream parlours and pigeons in the square itself. Hope this helps.
