CABAYE SET FOR MEDICAL

Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of Yohan Cabaye from PSG, according to Sky sources.

We understand the two clubs have agreed a fee for the former Newcastle midfielder of £10m, rising to £13m with add-ons.

The France international is expected to undergo a medical in London later today.

Seemes like he is close then

A post from NORTH STAND GAY CHAT

Article about Eddie Izzard saying we will win the premier league in 10 years.

this is a response to that, sour grapes?

'Palace will be champions'
Anything is possible with this bunch of ***** , today they are on the verge of paying £10 million for Yohan Cabaye on a £100,000 per week when only 5 years ago they were stealing other peoples money. Do you think it possible they might offer to pay any of their poor creditors back their money?

Do you know what...I know its simply not 'business' to do so but if CPFC2010 did actually pay everyone (bar that cnut Venables) back the money it would be an amazing gesture and be a real media coup.

Why should CPFC2010 pay for the mistakes of previous owners?

They shouldn't but the way its worked out for them its been hugely financially beneficial for them individually.

At not inconsiderable financial risk. They took a punt and it's paid off. They should be working in and with the community for sure but paying back debts SJ racked up and were written off no. They should perhaps make a gesture along the same lines as Swansea and subsidise tickets for away fans.

Oh Absolutely and that's why I prefaced my post with 'they shouldn't'.

They, through a mix of financial prudence, canny spending and a healthy dose of luck have seen their investment rocket.

Buyers of last resort, I would assume their initial plan was simply to keep the club going for as little extra investment as possible until a suitable buyer could be found.

Listen carefully and you can actually hear the hurt.....

Losing to us in the PO has got to be so so painful and raw with how life is currently panning out - I genuinely believe that some of them, if not the majority still haven't actually got over it...and perhaps cant ??

If this is confirmed today I must find time to off one out in private. This is ludicrously tremendous. When does the disappointment kick in?

Best player we have ever signed and this thread has turned into an administration argument. The club has moved on and no point spouting bollocks about the past, lets enjoy signing World class players.

Agree. What's £30 mill in transfer and wages for one player when we have been through so much sh1t

Daft thing is is that we can actually afford it even in a worst case scenario.

Me? I'm counting the days for my life long Palace ambition to be realised. A lovely trip to a fantastic club in Europe to see my team play competitively in the Europa Cup. Thinking Valencia or Ajax or Inverness.

Orrrf! Can you imagine!? I bet they've been wanting the exact same for years down at Ajax.

Someone already suggested that the announcement may be dependent on the new shirt sponsor.

I am not sure how much the sponsorship deal is but surely a photo of Cabaye wearing the sponsors name is worth a few million. CPFC 2010 will be using this in their negotiations to get the sponsor to sign up before the announcement.

As per usual Syd doesn't know what he's talking about. 1. Agilo were the ones who put the club into admin. 2. It was £6m for the ground. 3. As someoine else has stated, the club were hemorrhaging money until we got to the prem.

Expect Ian J to pop with the fact that CPFC 2010 took out a debenture, but forgets that you need liquidity behind you to actually take out a debenture.

God, you really are a tedious little pedant, aren't you? Yes, Agilo put the club into administration but had CPFC2010 wanted to acquire directly from Jordan at any point, they could have done so thereby saving both the club and Jordan from that particular humiliation. OK: Agilo technically put the club into administration and CPFC 2010 allowed it to happen because it was in their financial interests to do so.

2. Yes, the club were losing money but when you're an entrepreneur you back yourself to spot a losing business and turn it around. That's why they bought us and that's what they've done. When you have a net worth of over 200m pounds, liquidity probably isn't a problem.

Less Plane, more Plain Dull.
