That's all socialism is, a succession of experiments and projects that are doomed to failure. Corbyn is a fraud and a politician who has built his career on protest without offering a viable alternative and providing a radical left wing voice for those of similar persuasion.

This experiment has gone on too long and we need a strong opposition to challenge those in power. Corbyn and his momentum cult should just slide off back into the fringes, or maybe set up theirn own extremist party and leave the grown ups to the serious politics.

I'd be surprised if this is really the case. We have a massive issue in this country wherein we still hink of the working class as a load of bald white guys. But they reckon within about 10 years it will actually be majority non-white. Now obviously lots of people don't like that and are voting UKIP, but that's because they're racist. And I'm not saying that in an inflammatory way, I'm just stating it as a fact: if you don't like this country because it's becoming browner, then you are, by definition, a racist.

Now do UKIP or the Tories care about that sizeable demographic of the working class? Like f*ck they do. I would still estimate that that group is still majoritally Labour. Just a guess.

It's funny, because Labour will probably win in Stoke, and in Leigh, and then there'll have to be another argument made about why Corbyn should resign. UKIP are so incompetent, and Nuttall is such a bellend, that even Corbyn can beat them. I gotta say that brings a chuckle to my lips

I don't regard myself as working class... but I'm definitely a bald white guy.

The colour of someone's skin is irrelevant - it's their religion that scares me!

I don't want to be ruled by Imams and Sharia Law.

Won't make too much difference to me cos I don't drink anymore or steal etc., but I fear for the women, LBGT mob, and other religions that will be persecuted, animals welfare.... I guess as an atheist and not too far from death's door I will be spared having my head chopped off.

I guess you must be Muslim and/or quite happy with the way Muslims go about bullying the weak?

It says more about Corbyn that UKIP can give him a run for his money in places like Oldham and Stoke without Farage at the helm.

I still fancy UKIP to beat Labour in both By elections this week.

You should go further with this, surely anyone who disagrees with left-wing views is necessarily a 'racist', especially those Brexit racists and those racists who don't think Trump is the Devil, and those racists who think Theresa May is doing rather well, and the racists who disapprove of Islamic terrorism and the death penalty applied to gay people in Islamic countries etc etc etc

And here, in a nutshell, we have all of the reasons why Labour is never going to get elected in its current guise.

Arrogant distain for its 'core support'.

A complete lack of willingness to confront the reasons why it's 'core support' is flocking from them in droves.

The implication that Labour is now a middle class plaything, with a metropolitan agenda, which is miles away from the agenda of its 'core support'.

A failure to understand the reasons why Brexit happened, labelling it is a 'racist' in a way to stop any blame landing on it.

Confusion as to its role and future role in the current.

Underestimating the opposition. Simply labelling the opposition of 'not caring' for its 'core support' is fatal.

However, as I wish to see Jezza et al., get toasted in every election, keep it up Serial. Your, and your sorts, lack of willingness to face reality could be the key to Britain's future.

But this is kind of the point. The Labour movement has always been based around helping those who are most in need, and I think Corbyn is still trying to do this, but we are basing our understanding of 'the working class' on a really outdated white patriarchal concept. It is expected, no, it is aggressively encouraged, of Corbyn to abandon any care for those who really are at the bottom in our society, namely asylum seekers, frst and second gen migrants AS WELL AS the white working classes who have been f***ed over by the financial elite, and instead to focus solely on the latter group.

But we are living in a society at the moment where the former two groups are the ones who require protection far more than the latter, because discrimination and racism are on the rise. This means that there are people whom this country has legally accepted as citizens, who pay taxes, who work in our economy, but who feel alienated and threatened by politics. If Labour leaves them, then they have no one looking out for them, because you have a Prime Minister who was one of the most xenephobic home office minister's in a century, and an emergent nationalist party who is stoking the flames of anti-foreign sentiments.

Corbyn, in the face of brutal attacks from all elements of political society, is sticking by them and I credit him for that. I'm not a Labour member, I have no partiular allegiance to Corbyn and deviate from him greatly on a number of issues, but to do so in that context takes tremendous courage.

Can he win an election based on this? I don't know. It seems like everyone now is an expert, making brazenly confident predictions about politics in the face of the most unpredictable year in politics in most of our lifetimes. I think this is a symptom of the modern mentality, where because we have the internet in our pockets, we think we have all of its knowledge. To be honest after 2016, if you said to me that giant v*****-eyed grasshoppers will descend down to earth and make us their slaves, I'd shrug my shoulders and say it's probably more realistic than Mark Albrighton becoming a Premier League winner. Or if you told me that 5 years down the line we'd all be speaking Japanese and singing hymns to Thor, that I couldn't say it's out of the question given that you have a rapist psychopath in the Oval office. But a social democrat becoming PM? Now you're being ridiculous.

Labour lost any chance of governing over Brexit in my view I can't remember seeing such a pathetic performance by any opposition.

Corbyn will not win an election because he is an incompetent leader. The most important political matter in recent times has been the EU Referendum and its result. Jezza was unable to clearly state his views, back them up, participate in the debate in any meaningful manner, have a clear agenda following the result, convey any vision to the public and keep his party together during Commons votes. Most humilaiting of all has been the car crash that has been his management of the PLP throughout the parliamentary process. If people like Clive Lewis are openly defying him, he is in trouble.

This has got nothing to do with his 'beliefs'. He is a poor leader and people will not vote for him to lead the country.

There is nothing to admire in him. He is a doddery old man, who has been in opposition la la politics all his life, and now finds himself way out of his depth.

Jezza presides over the death of the party in Scotland:

[Link]

People can argue hat Labour was mortally wounded in Scotland before he came to power but given that, as we were told, that 'anti austerity' policies were important to the Scot's, one can only assume that Jezza is just not liked north of the border.

This is not good for democracy. Labourites, you have to consider this.
