I asked my Wife why she was watching a re-run of last years X Fuctor to which she replied "It's a new series". "Oh" I responded "It's exactly the same as last year and the year before that!" She retorted "Why don't you go down the pub?!". So I did! Saw a live band called Raw who performed 2 sets of Stone Roses,Kings of Leon,Arctic Monkeys, and lots of Indie-rock covers. Got home at 1 in the morning after a great night out! Same again next week, long live X Fuctor! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

I agreed a bargain last night - she gets to watch Xfactor and I get to watch MOTD - but was told that there is three and half months of Xfactor s***e to come! I f***ing hated Cheryl Cole, someone called Nick I have never heard of and some other singer I have never heard after mere minutes of the show.

I yearn for the days when Saturday night TV was Cannon & Ball doing something unfunny with some bemused guest celebrities followed by Tales of the Unexpected (because as a young lad, it was often your first, furtive view of side boob happened during the show).

PS. It f***ing on again now! Sunday night used to be Bulleye.

And in my youth "Sunday night at the London Palladium" featuring the game show "Beat the clock".

I remember the 'Tiller Girls' and Jack Parnell.Used to be hosted by Jimmy Tarbuck and Norman Vaughan amongst others.

Liked the bit at the end when all the artists used to stand on a revolving stage and wave to the audience.

Do you remember Tommy Handley in ITMA, too, Willo?

NO !
But I've heard of Tommy Handley.

I've heard of Tommy Trinder ! In fact my late mother-in-law's mother and Tommy and Freddie Trinder's mother knew each other and used to go on outings together.Never did meet my mother-in-law's mother - she had passed away.

What did you do in the war?

I was born in 1952 so wasn't in the two World Wars.
My uncle was in the Korean war in 1953 and whenever I see him he keeps going on about it.
I've not served in the forces so have not been in a battle arena.

I had you down as older.

I have consistently stated on here that I am 63 this year. Born November 1952 in Mayday Hospital.I am informed that there was the great smog round about that time and friends/relatives couldn't visit the newly born baby !

I'm not some old "Fuddy duddy" !

Poor old Willo.
Time and again he pleads, but it falls on deaf ears.
As it seems he has given up pleading I will plea for him.

Please let`s not turn this into another Willo thread. Let`s get back on topic.

Indeed it is, usually you have to pay the talent, where as things like X-Factor the talent ends up paying you.

Only ever watch stuff I download or live sports these days - TV just makes me feel dumb.

Doing deals with the missus? Really. I thought everyone had at least Two televisions in their house.
Grows some balls and tell her she is watching MOTD whilst serving you cans of chilled Stella in a rounded Stella glass of course. Snacks optional and a blowy after Palace have appeared of course.

The above makes me think you are not in a relationship. Or ever have been. There are some times you have to do deals.

Also, I would far rather have a nice warmed glass of VSOP than a Stella.

Cheap brandy.

Steady on, old bean. A good VSOP is an excellent Gentlemans beverage.

Besides, any drink that Eazy 'muthaphuckin' E used to drink for breakfast whilst getting sucked off by 'dirty assed ho's' is good enough for me.

Get some of this [Link] down your gullet. F*cking lovely.

I'm not sure that Easy-E is necessarily the ideal model of how to 'enjoy ho's'. He probably should have spent more on condoms than brandy.

I notice that this tripe isn't doing so well in the ratings this year. In these chaotic times at least something is right in the world.
