Whilst the sentiment is fine, I am very sceptical as whether this sort of Facebook post is genuine. There are load of these floating around, all scripted similarly.

Agree, How did he know those that helped were all Muslim? and why couldn't the White Brits be Muslim too?.
Someone spitting in his girlfriend's face for being with a guy in a wheelchair just cannot be real.

What makes you qualified to dismiss what happened, over and above the the bloke who was actually experiencing it?

The whole quote should be on front page of All the dailies (especially the red tops) to remind the divs that believe every word they read about Muslim hatred.

But its alright to believe a Facebook Quote as fact?

I Don't know if it happened or not, but I don't believe it just because it's posted on a social media site. How did he know that all the good people were Muslims? Did he ask them?

"A Muslim doctor offered my Dad comfort and advice in a pub" because that's were you find a lot of Muslim tee totalers hanging out

How do you know that all the bad people where not Muslim? Just because they were white and British?

I believe most of these posts are just written to wind as many people up as possible. Unfortunately most people will believe these stories if it's what they want to hear.

Plenty of bad people out there from all walks of life, But there is a hell of a lot more good people.

Priceless... and exposes the incredulity of said article!

Where do they drink - at the "Infidel's Head" ?

I know Muslims who drink moderately, and have been to the pub with Muslims who don't - Quite often when you count work do's. My dad doesn't drink alcohol, he worked in a brewery for 32 years. I drink and I have been in a pub and not consumed alcohol.

Alcohol is not banned or punished in the Koran, its discouraged (and specifically it refers to wine and intoxication) its not unusual, especially for younger Muslims to drink beer occasionally or spirits - which technically would be fine if they avoid becoming intoxicated.

The restrictions on intoxication, also includes in the same passage, divination by arrows, stones and gambling.

In fact there is no actual prohibition of alcohol at all, just statements that its not wise, advisable or beneficial to a good Muslim.

Its not forbidden in the same way that the blood of animals, the flesh of swine and non-halal meat is.

As always these things generally depend on interpretation, usually by those who have something to gain from controlling others.

What makes you qualified to accept that the guy actually experienced it. I have my thoughts on it and you have yours. Questioned how he would know that those that helped were Muslim and those that were not were not Muslim. In my opinion its made up bollicks by another Muslim.

Because they guy who experienced it was interviewed and quoted by many sources, as you would know if you bothered to read the links posted by the OP and myself. His name is Chris Herbert, he is an ex-soldier and not a Muslim.

The Mail (not exactly a raving lefty publication) confirms that:

Mr Herbert, a private in the 4th Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment, was one of three soldiers injured when a bomb was detonated next to their Land Rover on 9 February 2007.

One of his comrades, 21-year-old Private Luke Simpson, died in the attack.

Fellow soldiers Captain Ibrar Ali had his right hand amputated and Private Paul Davey had shrapnel in both legs and underwent surgery.

Mr Herbert later said that, in the moments after the attack, he tried to stand and saw the tibia and fibia bones sticking out of his leg.

Mr Herbert has since taken part in a number of charity drives, including an eight-hour rowing marathon for the Army Benevolent Fund.

I agree with the guy's sentiment but am always frustrated at the way these things are propagated. Ie: a defiant list of utter truth which puts a large section of the population to shame. Let us one and all stop for one second and consider ourselves. And so on.

Then there's the targeting of people who aren't a minority.

Students have defined certain people against whatever rights their promoting as often being 'white, straight cis-gender (someone whose gender identity matches their anatomical gender at birth) males'.

It goes against everything the fight for equality should be about.
As I said, I agree with the points the guy makes and by no means do I think he's an idiot. However, I can't stand the sensationalist, social media driven personal politics that get bandied around and then forgotten once the next big hashtag or news story comes along.
I know it's the way the world works but I don't think this story particularly proves someone to be a unique person, just because they publish their views online.

Rant over.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

In the top 50 wine producing countries around 10 are Muslim. It's part of their culture.

Some of the locals drink. And with what's been going on who can blame them?

That article is not going to change the view of bigots genuine or not.
