I sympathise I keep finding myself defending Boris and his treaty even though I don't want it.

We live in interesting times as some one once said.

The same people who clung onto Farage’s every word prior don’t want to hear it anymore, as it stops them claiming they ‘won’ Brexit now - quite funny really.

I voted remain and then think this deal is about the best outcome - it is funny watching people who were adamant it had to be no deal 3 months ago now happy to swallow this, all in the name of believing they won something.

So your saying somone with life experience who may have voted in the 1970's referendum and has a wider view of life is less likely to vote correctly in the UK'S interest than teens?

I think that what Wissy is trying to say is that once you get to 70 your faculties have diminished considerably so you probably don't have the mental faculties to understand the issues so it would be a kindness to the rest of the nation if one was barred from voting once you reach that age

According to the profile of 'Wisbech Eagle' he was born in 1944 which makes him somewhat 'north' of 70.

Perhaps there should be an age limit on HOL so that those in their 70s cannot spout errant hogwash due to diminished faculties ! I have NOT quite reached that age but I suspect many will have concluded that my spouting enters this category !

A rare interjection by 'Yours Truly' on this thread! Brexit and politics consumes a considerable part of my life outside of HOL so I have a proclivity to give the 'News and politics' threads a wide berth.

Willo the Spartan!

I was never adamant about a no deal I just don't like this deal which is May's with a Boris twist.

My preference was always for a simple free trade deal and maybe in the future we will end up there but as of today I don't know what the outcome will be.

Remainers have fought a very effective insurgency whilst the government has lurched from one crisis to the next.

Parliament has wasted 3 years rejecting ever possible outcome and the so called Government of National Unity led by Corbyn has quietly disappeared because the opposition whilst opposing Brexit are just as divided about the solution.

And whilst the Remainers have been very effective it is still possible that they will over play their hand and we end up with a no deal Brexit.

Still all to play for.

MPs have taken us for total idiots and have insulted our intelligence. They have hidden behind procedural devices and played party politics in order to thwart Brexit.

These MPs spout on about "Honouring the result of the referendum" but they refuse to implement the referendum result, furthermore they refuse to let the electorate vote in a General Election.Labour have consistently called for a GE yet when challenged by the PM for one they back off.Remainers demand a 'Peoples vote" whilst they continue to try and overturn the 2016 'Peoples vote'.The Lib Dems unashamedly wish to ignore the votes of 17.4 million in the 2016 referendum.

Remainers/Labour etc etc been totally disingenuous in terms of the arguments they have advanced in relation to the agreed deal.At the end of the day all they want is to prevent Brexit and to prevent a Conservative agreed deal from being passed.Lbour,SNP etc etc will not vote for ANY deal for party political purposes.

I shall leave it here.Got to consider my blood pressure!
