Well done, midlands. You’ve probably done PP a favour. He can skip along in his mind that all is well again. Or he can start his own chat room with europalace.

Maybe it was all an elaborate ruse on his part to pretend to be a really annoying remainer in an attempt to make people want to leave.

Tommy wouldn't even rape you either.

Did you get so upset about Ricky Gervais's rape jokes? You're upset over a four year old tweet to a woman who blocked parliament discussing male suicide which this guy's uncle died of.....Tell me Maine, did you get upset when Jess Phillips spoke about knifing Corbyn in the front?

As for Farage, you just fell for the spin.

That’s a shame as I was planning on a trip to wisbech soon, to see the sights and culture.....

Tommy wouldn’t have a chance as I would have 2 milkshakes and a strawberry sundae at the ready.

Speaking of delicious things, do you see the irony here Stirlingsays?

Your hero and idol Farage finally gets something right and it’s a role reversal, with you telling me I fell for his lies.

Only problem is he isn’t lying, UKIP is a joke now and is politically on life support.

I wonder if a friend or family member of yours had been raped, if you would find rape jokes so amusing?

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Yes, indeed Wisbech... you should try it one day - just in your every day life.

If you manage it, who knows you could be a future mod...

How on earth do you think you know that I cannot see both sides? I could very easily write the same stuff that spews on a daily basis from the hardliners on here. It's actually pretty easy to see. Most populist "policies" are simplistic and designed to appeal to the baser instincts of popular opinion. Hence the name.

I just don't agree with it, can see through it and be able to question the motives of those pushing it.

What are you waffling about now Wisbech?

The left on this site are afforded far more latitude than the right are on other sites we could name.

Sites that support one political view are expected to be less tolerant of the other. I get roundly abused on both Labour sites and on Trump supporting sites. It's par for the course and I take it as a compliment.

This though is the Hol which should have no political bias either way. It is though pretty obvious that, in these threads at least, it does.

I wouldn't bother with Wisbech if I were you. Not many sights and even less culture. I lived there for 12 years and there are many other places with more charm. Like everywhere it has some nice people and a few "characters". Including the infamous Tony Martin and the virtuous Victoria Gillick, both of whom I met whilst there. I can understand why some who live there hold such very heavily prejudiced views.

Come to where I now live, in Cornwall! Proper people!

As to Farage, whilst there are undoubtedly some (mistakenly in my opinion) who genuinely believe that we would have a better future outside the EU there are many more who really don't know, probably don't care too much, and are motivated by other considerations. Such as "anything must be better than this", or "we need to stop our country being overrun", or "we voted for this, why hasn't it been done" or the most common "I'm tired of all this, just do it".

Farage is harvesting those people and will doubtless try to claim, if his new vehicle finishes where it seems likely to, that there is a new mandate for a hard exit. The cheeky b*stard even said he would insist on being part of the negotiating team. ,

Motives?

They vary.

Some just political ambition.

Some a financial killing.

Some just a mischievous desire to disrupt the status quo to see where the pieces fall.

Some a belief that we ought to be a totally independent nation, even if that means we are worse off and/or less secure.

Some a hatred of anything that resembles socialism, even if it is democratic socialism.

Some a desire to restrict immigration.

Some, outside the UK, with a desire to encourage the break up of the EU and weaken the western alliance.

Everybody knows proper people come from Devon, as does cream tea...

There is no political bias on HOL at all and I think that you are mistaking the fact that the right are more vocal on this site than the left but that doesn't equate to bias.

No-one has been censured here for their political views but only ever for their posting style.

One of your leftie buddies publically referred to me as a c*** yesterday and I suppose that if he is red carded (which he should be) you will squeal about political bias again

Disagree, the lefties are far more shouty shouty on here. Steelyeye, that geezer in Holland, Wisbech, Maplesyrup, Maine, all sound off incessantly with their tired old soundbites. It's only really Hrolf and Stirling acting as the counter voices of common sense on a regular basis.
