I don't know but why not ask George Osborne as he was one of the worst culprits I can think of many current politicians who are much worse. In the minds of "leave" voters Osborne's primary "sin" it seems was making predictions about the consequences of a leave vote succeeding. Consequences which haven't materialise. Yet. He was being political but there was more truth underlying what he suggested than in many other statements made at that time.

Or in other words "narrow minded". Whilst currently most populist regimes are from the right they can just as easily come from the left.

Oh he was "electioneering" for sure. He had to in response to the claims being made by "leave". Which is why I so strongly object to putting such a critical issue to the winds of chance of a referendum and the resultant expectations that have been so obvious in the last 3 years. This issue should have been a pledge in a manifesto after agreement within a political party. Then if they become the government they can start the process in the hope they can get it through Parliament. In that way everyone would know where they stand.
