It's just that Alaistair Campbell and Nick Clegg and other such intellectual titans said it would after a leave vote in the referendum and then again after the triggering of Article 50.

Whether you like it or not, Brexit is happening... So you either want the country you live in to be prosperous – or want it to fail just so you can give yourself a nice pat on the back for voting remain. That's a bit sad!

I take your general point about it happening anyway and trying to get the best outcome...but that doesn't mean it becomes a completely invalid point of view to regard Brexit as dumb triple plus and the way our politicians seem to be going about it since the referendum as equally dumb...

If the referendum had gone the other way, which it nearly did,no doubt plenty of Brexiters would still be going on about how Brexit would be a good thing rather than focusing on making the most of EU membership...

Legal, we are nine months into this.

Twice, your sort, have told us by certain specific dates that Brexit would result in us living in a post apocalyptic hell. Those dates have passed.

So the Remain camp is moving to another deadline for all to go a bit JG Ballard?

It's a bit inconsistent. No?

I don't think you understand - and am not surprised that you don't - but nothing has started at all until yesterday. Up till now we have had nine months of nothing but chest puffing and a falling pound.

I hope it works out since, unlike the owners of the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph and the Sun, I live here.

But I am not confident. I just hope the Brexiters are right and the people who voted remain like me are wrong.

Otherwise its another press supported error of judgement - like the Iraq war but one that actually hurts us instead of the civilians of Iraq...and Syria and Libya.

Maybe we have it coming.

The last nine months have not been 'chest puffing and a falling pound'. Government has been assessing its move. EU has been assessing its move. Business has been assessing its move.

If you think the three haven't been talking, you are wrong.

Draft guidelines on how the EU intends to negotiate the UK's departure from the bloc to be announced later.

EU leaders say the UK must first agree its (the EU) exit terms before talks can move on to future ties.

Looks like we are holding all the aces, folks.

No one has said 'we hold all the aces'. What people have said is, that despite Remainers attempts to state otherwise, the EU doesn't hold all the cards in these negotiations. Britain does have a strong hand. There will be a vision and there will be compromise. Given the rather shaky nature of the Eurozone economy, the EU is not seeking a deal, or no deal, that would destabilise it. Equally, the government wants trade, security and migration deals.

It is in the interest of both sides to do a deal and I believe they will. It will be less than membership of the EU but crucially give us back an element of control lost for 14 years to unelected commissioners in Brussels and allow us to embrace the World.

And not only that....Corbyn has been campaigning against the EU bureaucracy, greed and criminal waste for the past 40 years when he was a backbencher.... it's difficult to believe that he has had an epiphany when made Labour Leader and now supports the EU failed experiment?

Corbyn's 'stance' brings to mind the Hockey-Cokey song:

Put your left leg in
your left leg out

In
out
in
out
shake it all about.

Do the Hokey-Cokey and you turn around ...

My sort? Us Kryptonians know from what happened to our own planet post-Kryptexit how these things can pan out....
