It becomes a philosophical problem when you defend people's rights and then those very same people walk all over someone else's.

We can criticise Israel because they are a nation who happen to consist almost entirely of Jews but we can't criticise Jews in general because that would be anti semitic. We defend the the rights of women and get all angry when they are degraded but we can't criticise a major religion who indulge in the suppression of women on a daily basis because that would be bigotry,

No. Jews are not a race no matter how much they claim to be.
Are Christians a race?

They are, possibly. Research in Jewish genetics is still ongoing and no definite conclusions have been made yet.
