Just looking at players from teams likely to be/already relegated
Tim Krul- genuine upgrade on what we have
Tim Klose- Norwich looked solid until he got injured
Mamo Sissoko- inconsistent but can be a beast when his head is right
Nathan Redmond- great competition for Wilf and Yala
Ashley Westwood- decent player in an awful team
Those 5 would be around £30-£35m
I think we should then be looking to spend £20-£25m on a creative midfielder (Vazquez at Palermo looks class) and a partner for Wickham

Out
Paddy Mac- too old
Macarthy- not good enough
Fryers- say no more!
Campbell- not enough goals
Hangeland- too old
Lee- very surprised if he stays
Mutch- potential but we need to make room for someone proven

Realistically, we would have to spend around £60m to stand still- the market is going to get silly this Summer with the TV money

If we are going to spend that much , I'd rather do 45/50 million on bony , siggurdson , a keeper and the big mixed race centre back at Newcastle.
All would be 1st teamers and the players going out would make the bench strong.
Although I expect we will bring in crouch or Charlie Adam on a free.

No Bony please, he has been absolute crap at Man City. Seems he is just there for the money. Give Wickham/Gayle a couple of games together, think they will do given the opportunity to develop an understanding.

I take your point regarding Bony, but he was only ever going to be a back up striker, if he'd replaced Aguero we would have to sell the ground and most of Croydon to buy him. I'm sure he must have had a good understanding With siggurdson at Swansea as he was banging them in.
Any striker we buy needs to be able to play upfront on his own. Dzeko went for sensible money last year.
The outgoing wages of adebayor and chamakh would cover a top forwards money.

Doesn't make him a bad player - his scoring record throughout his career is very very good, and he's proved he can score goals for weaker teams - I don't think we'd have a hope of getting him, but we'd be mad to turn him down if he was available.

May be that shows the quality of Sigurdson. I recon wickham and Gayle would love his service.

Why is there all this chat about Sigurdsson, there is no chance that Swansea will sell him. Without him they would have been in even more trouble than they ended up. Also, if they were to sell I reckon teams like Everton and Southampton being interested in him. I also think he would walk into Man Utd team as well but he isn't a big enough name for them. Just think we would seriously struggle to get him

Now these aren't all for the first team but more to overhaul our thin squad... Not 100% sure on costs so please advise where I'm wrong.

Buy:

Freddie Woodman - £2m?
Gylfi Sigurdsson - £10m?
Aleksandar Mitrovic - £7m?
Callum Wilson - £8m
Andros Townsend - £8m
Joe Allen - £6m?
Bradley Dack - £2m
Fosu-Mensah (buy or loan) or van Aanholt £7m?
Ashley Williams - £10m?

Total: £60m

Sell or release:
Adebayor
Campbell
Chamakh
Hangeland
Paddy Mac
Mutch
Lee

Say all gone for £10m, equals a net spend of £50m. Adding strength in depth to all areas of the team.

They only way these guys are going to be worth £10m together is if they start a Lottery syndicate!

Adebayor - not ours to sell
Campbell - bought for £900k I believe / we were ripped off
Chamakh - career possibly over
Hangeland - career possibly over
Paddy Mac - career over
Mutch - £3m max - we won't sell him
Lee - £1m to £2m max - we won't sell him, but we'll try

We'd be lucky to raise £4m and I think I'm being nice.

That said. I would buy Mitrovic definitely and Allen.
