Seems a complete non-story but Maria 'joyless' Eagle wants to exploit it: More importantly, one wonders whether the 'lady' in question operated a niche service and, if so, what type of niche service provision was on offer?

I love the fact that everyone is dwelling on whether it should have been a story or not and yet we're all meant to believe that he had no idea she was a sex worker! What sort of relationship was it?, postal?

Its generally true, that escorts have lives outside of being escorts, and they generally don't make a big deal about what they do 'for money' with people outside of that circle. My wife's friend does a bit of escort work. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't tell many people about it (we only know because we helped her set up her website and put her in contact with a friend who runs other 'adult connection' websites).

If he had paid her for sex, its a story, maybe, as he is an MP, and technically its an issue. Otherwise its not. But lets face it, if four newspapers have passed on a story involving an MP and a hooker, its probably a non-story. I suspect its more Ms Eagle political positioning.
