Quite frankly I would be saying to him - come on board for xxxxxxxxxx money per week, with milestone add ons at 10 / 20 / 25 / 30 goals per season, then at least we get something out of any pay rise, then if he dosent like it leave him in Liverpool reserves.
I never feel comfortable when someone comes on board behaving like we need him more than he needs us.
Sounds like Peter (above) is close to the truth when he says he dosent really want to come to us & wants to string this process out longer to see if a better (perceived) club shows interest.

But do we know for sure if he has asked for a pay rise? I thought personal terms had been agreed. Has there been any credible reports to the contrary overnight? Any 30million pound signing is going to be coming in with a certain arrogance and high demands. I guess, rightly or wrongly, it goes with the territory and it's the market place we have put ourselves in.
