HOL swearing

Why are swear words filtered on this website? If I wanna say e.g. Jordan Mutch played like utter f***ing dogs*** the filters don't stop anyone knowing what I actually meant? We all swear and know what each other mean despite the asterisk. Is there a good reason behind this or would it be something others would like to see changed too>?

Swearing shouldn't be necessary on an internet forum and I would prefer to see circumventing the swear filter punishable by a yellow card. I swear as much as the next man but not in front of kids or places that kids could be reading

Think I remember Guntri saying it was related to advertising - apparently the most common words on Hol would have it flagged as a certain type of site if it weren't for the filters

I'd like the swear filter to stay Not because I don't swear. I do from time to time. It's nice to get a rest from it. As many around me struggle to speak without swearing. There are more creative ways to describe players.

They still need to rectify the anomalies it has like s****** (s n i g g e r) and pakistan which always removes the capital P. There's probably others. I remember a time when someone wanted it extended to blasphemy and they were a mod IIRC.

I've no idea how this software works as I think that it's home made but it probably works on the basis of blacklists and whitelists that need to be manually updated.

Danny s***tu is always filtered as well. I don't really understand the I don't want my kids reading it. Firstly, how many kids are on here? Any "kid" aged 12 or above after first year of secondary school surely knows every swearword in the book
