Upgrade on Gayle for sure. Before he fell out of love with West Ham he was scoring for fun and has more of all around game. Looks like the club is pursuing its non-Benteke plans. This would be a positive, although not world-changing, signing.

Our fans always have this instant opinion that a player is either 'great' or 'crap' !!! Do people actually research his goal record for other clubs? In France, he played for Metz and got 47 goals in 124 games. Pretty good. His first season at West Ham he scored 12 goals in 26 games. His first season in the Premier. Last season it was a bit stop start for him because of injuries. Also he is very hard working and is known for his assists as well as goals. Now lots of our fans reckon he is rubbish!!! I remember the same thing being said about Andy Johnson when he was supposed to be the makeweight for Clinton Morrison in that swap deal with Birmingham. Apparently he was 'rubbish'!!! again!!! Funny how he became AJ the Legend!!!!

So if Sakho does sign, there should be another striker too
