Sorry but you support the country you are either:

Born in.
Grew up in.
Possibly live in.
Maybe your partner's country especially with children.
You have ancestors from that country.

You cannot pick and choose. Do the other home nations support us? I think not, but that's not really why.

I wanted all the home nations to go through but to turn Welsh because they got through the group without having to lay 10 behind the ball for nearly 270 mins like we did and then play bl00dy damn well vs Belgium? No thanks.

I am torn between wanting them to do even better, although not supporting the,m and seeing them beaten heavily because of the players celebrating England. Very unprofessional and immature. Nothing against the fans I must add.

So who would you support if England played Turkey?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Turkey. But it's only sport and not worth getting upset about.

So who would you support if Britain and Turkey were at war then?

The Welsh team celebrated when England got knocked out.

I quite like Wales but their football team can go take a long run off a short pier.

I would support peaceful resolution of disagreements, I always would. War is a last resort and I wouldn't support aggressive responses whilst there was a non-violent option available. I'm not a pacifist and think the Islamic State is not an entity you can negotiate with but it would better to support the Syrians and Iraquis to defeat them rather than send British or any other foreign soldiers to do so.

Quite right, but that's not what he asked.

On that performance against Iceland the whole footballing world would have celebrated and by the 80th minute I bet there were more than one of two England fans who wanted Iceland to do it too.

They were superb yesterday against Belgium. Every thing 'The Three Pussycats' aren't.

Would it not depend on why we have gone to war and for whom and for what?

So you could envision a situation where you'd support Turkey in a war with Britain?

Firstly, both being members of NATO I think the American's might have something to do with this not happening.

Kermit is correct. If Turkey invaded and occupied Devon and Cornwall it would be justified for Britain to declare war and retake the territory. If Britain occupied Istanbul the same. But war should always be a last resort and not an alternative to diplomatic and non-violent solutions.
