Love or hate Farage, I ask the questions: Did he help to shake up British politics and play a big part in getting the traditional "big three" having to wake up a little bit and be a bit less complacent? Did he contribute to British people becoming more interested in politics either to vote for or against his views? I totally get why Farage haters think he's a knob, I can see their point of view, but I would've thought most people can see that he made a lot of positive differences during his time as UKIP leader even if you can reel off a much longer list of negatives. For me the list of positives is longer than the list of negatives, but I do respect people will have a conflicting view. I just don't buy anyone writing him off as having contributed nothing, wherever your allegiances lie.

Yes, which for me makes him a hero, but that one probably divides opinion a lot more! Quite a successful MEP ironically as well (until recently). He was pretty instrumental in exposing corruption and deception in the EU. I think a problem of the EU parliament is a lack of opposition per se.
