You're conflating being badly managed on football matters with being badly managed on financial matters. We're the 20th richest club on the planet, we're in no danger of doing a Leeds.

The reason we're talking about Pardew is because we were insulted as a fanbase, called deluded and prejudiced.

We weren't demanding a team that won every game, just one that looked competent, our form was as bad as yours has been recently. He'd go on runs without a win, then somehow pull out a few wins on the bounce and suddenly everything is rosy.

We didn't want Pardew out because he was a Southerner, we wanted him out because of the football he played and the results that football returned.

We're not saying "we told you so" we're advising you to get shot of Pardew before it's too late.

I've seen "he's the best standard of manager a club like your could get". Sorry, but that's horses***. Eddie Howe is a better manager than Pardew, as is Pochettino and Koeman. They may not see Crystal Palace as an attractive prospect for them now, but they would have a few years ago. There will be a raft of managers whose trajectories will take them beyond Pardew's ability, who would crawl over broken glass to manage a London team in the Premier League for an owner that backs his managers and lets him get on with it.

To say "he's the best you can get" is a damning indictment of your ambition.

I bet you lot don't go on other websites moaning about all the other managers you've had who were no better and mostly worse than Pardew. You haven't had a more successful one one since Bobby Robson!

You may have valid points about Pardew but we can see them for ourselves - it's our problem not yours anymore. We don't need you lot keeping on about it. The problem is you are obsessed with Pardew and you need to forget about the past and get a life. Get on with your own prospects which don't look too good at the moment either !

For my mind, there isn't a lot between 60/70% of the PL teams and it basically comes down to the quality of players and organisation. Despite some disappointing performances we rarely look disorganised, but we have looked bereft of creativity. This is something most of us hope will be addressed with Bentenke (or other) plus one or two others. Clearly Pardew knows this hence his comments and the Bentenke bid. Personally I think he is good at man management and organising a team, but I think perhaps he needs a number two with a few ideas to mix things up when needed.

Newcastle are a mess and it may well take a few years before they can change that. The Championship is a different game to the PL. It requires grit and team effort, which is what Newcastle have lacked in recent years. I'm not convinced Benitez is the right man for that job as he is a great tactician but perhaps not the motivator that is often needed in the second tier. Ironically, I think Pardew is more suited to that role

When those managers left our club they were generally given the short shrift for poor performances. We were constantly told we should be grateful for Pardew, we should be happy with his awful football, tactical ignorance and his personality. Many Palace fans took great delight in the mismanagement that followed his departure, failing to appreciate the crux of the matter. We didn't just want PArdew gone, we wanted him replaced with an actual manager. Instead we got Carver, who's credentials seem to be simply that he knew where the best fish and chips could be found.

Then we got McClaren, who I (and most fans) were willing to give the benefit of the doubt (note no McClarenOut.com) and it was only when the January window signing didn't result in an upturn in form or football that the fans turned. Then we got, Benitez, who is the best manager we've had since Robson. We went down, but the Newcastle fans are not the knee-jerk deluded arseholes we're portrayed to be. As evidenced by our backing of the Spaniard.

2 games into the season and people are writing Newcastle United off. 132pts to play for, 22 home and 22 away. We'll be fine. Especially as we're not done strengthening players yet.

Listen to it and do what? I don't understand what course of action a small portion of Palace fans on a forum are meant to do in reaction to this sage advice. I'm not casting my opinion either way as to whether the Newcastle fans are correct or not. I'm not blind, we've had some pretty poor form this year. However, you seem to be implying that we ought to read the words from these Newcastle fans and then DO something. But you haven't yet said what your plan is. I am listening.

Geordie fans are really not worth a carrot now along with their opinions. The s***e that has come out of Newcastle supporters over the last few years is embarrassing. The Mag and its contributors just piss and whinge about anyone they can blame for the shambles their club has become rather than deal with the real problem its owner. They used to be real men up there who would have never have allowed Ashley to turn the club into the soap opera it has become. They are in the Championship because they are spineless and gutless supporters not because of the managers they have had. Benitez will get s***e as well by Christmas if they aren't in the top 6 you see.

Truth hurts pal,Geordies used to be some of the proudest people in the country but now you sweep the problem under the carpet whilst hoping that it all comes good. That isn't pride and you know it,Ashley is embarrassing you but instead of making a stand and getting rid of him you make yourselves feel better by bleating about anyone else you can.Grow some balls lad and get your club back.

There is a difference between Newcastle and palace. Newcastle is a huge wealthy club with massive expectations that rarely delivers. We are a club that spent decades in decay. We watched the football world explode as we sat on the side lines slowly rotting away.

At Newcastle pardew did ok. Yes he was hampered by the management. Yes there were probably those who could have done better. But he did ok and they would still be in this league had he stayed, no doubt bumping up and down the table.

Here he is hampered by our history. We continue to play catch up despite 3 years earning the money. Our infrastructure has received a boost from US investment but that remains cash in bank until we can get passed the myriad of issues required for developing in London. I think we are still chained to our fears about going bust, having experienced administration twice, and this feeds into our business dealings, hence the prolonged saga of benteke and the new ground.

In short we are a small club punching above its weight. We progress in small steps, fearful of biting more than we can chew. In a few years we will be Stoke, then Southampton and perhaps if we play the game with skill we will be spurs.

The trouble with such a sensible policy is it has to be done with the mouse click generation on your back. They want instant gratification and they want it NOW! You only have to read some of the dumb ass comments on this site about sacking pardew, giving Liverpool whatever they want for benteke and other simple minded ruinous suggestions.

For my part, he is not the best manager available but he is a good fit with us for now. We will bump along in this division as we continue to get established and the club will build and develop to the point where he is too small for us.

That time is not now.

I've not come here to gloat about Newcastle, mainly because I don't think that's possible.
The answer to any question up there is answered with either one of these statements

Get wor Kev back in

Or

Get wor Shears

Anything other than that is Geordie Treason

On a more serious not I've travelled twice to Newcastle away
2013 and 2014
In 2013 I was in the directors box
Ashley sat at a specially constructed table, like Henry VIIIth
A hanger on on a stool either side, their seat being about a foot lower
The stadium is filled to the rafters with black and white shirts
Most other supporters wear loud casual shirts that are never tucked in, and matched with a massive cheap watch
Away support is behind the goal as far back as possible.

The second time I went, I stood in the away section
You have to walk up about eleven teen flights of stairs
Here's my point
Walking out after the game somehow the stairs are overlooked by zigzag gaps in the concrete walls and the Geordie support
At this point the Geordies wait, and spit all over you
Amazing
A crowd shouting a spitting at you.
It's the one ground I won't be returning to until we play them in the FA cup, and they're in league one.
Circa 2017/18

Trouble wise, they'll never be settled
Even their ultimate choice of gaffer fails
They're a bitter unsettled argumentative cantankerous blunt and ultimately thick strata within society
You know

Morons.

Apologies if that's offended anyone.

Do you honestly think we don't know that Ashley is the underlying problem? Of course it's his fault, we all know it's his fault. He didn't invest 7 years ago and we went down, he brought in his cronies who knew nothing, he brought in yes men, he brought in Pardew when Hughton was doing a grand job, he daubed our amazing stadium with tacky shop adverts, he agreed to a legal loan shark's sponsorship of our shirts, he's agreed to sales of our best players and failed to replace them, he's based a transfer policy on his tat-mongering empire.

However, none of us have the money to buy him out, he doesn't want to sell and unless both of those things change there's very little we can do. We've protested, we've boycotted, we've walked out and nothing phases the fat Spurs fan. Until we pull together his inflated valuation of the club he's not moving.

And there are arguments that he's learnt his lesson. We've spent money on players that should allow a very good manager to get us back into the Premier League. That manager has been given cast-iron assurances that if and when we return his control won't be lessened.

But you crack on with your cliches, if it helps?

What utter tripe. I hope that the Toon fans contributing (rather sensibly) to this debate realise that not all Palace fans spout such claptrap
