It's not just on social media. For years I made unacceptably offensive comments about gingers in my office. Then the office ginge became my boss. He never mentioned it but my pay rises have been sh*t.

Now charged by the FA.

I can only presume that these wouldn't have even come to light had they not beaten Liverpool, and had he not scored.

Optimistic as ever

Pathetic.

Probably, but those tweets are from 4 years ago, in that time it is well documented that he moved away from the gang culture he was a part of.

It's not like he wrote them yesterday.

He may have moved on but he also had the opportunity to go back and delete those comments before they came to the wide attention they have now.

I think he got what he deserved, a bit of roasting over the internet, but probably best it's left at that.

Bonkers and I'm not sure that the FA will have much of a case.

The lesson is simple, if you do social media and suddenly become famous. Delete your account and start a new one!

I assume that all professional footballers have to sign some type of contract with the FA that gives them the power to do such a thing

Why do you think the FA would not have much of a case in terms of misconduct? Is there a legal argument involved that would negate the charge?

Because it happened so long ago. From a regulatory perspective I am sure that they have the power to but at what stage do you draw a line? The misconduct was 4 yrs ago and everyone knows his backstory.

They would have been better to get in touch with him and send him on the various courses they do. In stead they run the risk of looking a bit foolish and heavy handed.

If there is one thing I've learnt from religion - violence solves everything. Or... it doesn't... but just do it anyway... So, until the gay community smash up Andre Gray's car, burn down his house and threaten to hack him to death in the middle of a street - this sort of stuff will keep happening.

4 match ban

Do you not think they are taking a political stance ?

Surely they should only concern themselves with on field matters

Very harsh

Complete load of bollocks! Why ban him for something he said a few years ago? The FA trying to win favour with political correctness popularity decisions! Whatever next? "Yes officer I was doing 40 in a 30 zone a couple of years back so can I have my points now please?" Still as long as the gays are happy!
