Cornwall - Can you recommend places worth a visit

Really sad. I was down Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago and these 2 guys went swimming together in the sea. Well they went further than I could see, and not within the flags on the beach. They both returned OK, but its taking a massive risk on there behalf.

Bedruthan Steps. If you time it right with the tide, it will beat most beaches in the world. Usually almost deserted, too.

Instead of Newquay,try Polzeath for surfing,a lot quieter and waves just as good and just along the coast Tintagel for the scenery and history.

There were high winds then obviously but today was as calm as it could be generally.

personally i feel the lizard area is the best part of the lizard, drive to lizard, and walk to kynance cove for lunch. absolutly awesome beach and so many places around there for the kids to play. try coverack/cadgwith/kennack sands/mullion cove etc etc take a crab line, hours of fun to be had. just my opinion but stay away from the obvious touristy places like newquay/penzance/padstow/st ives. also theres a great chippy in looe, opposite the fishing landing area, looks proper pikey but cant beat proper fish, chips & a cuppa for under £5.

To repeat a warning of Looe. The seagulls are a real pain. Nice beach, but keep food covered. There is a busier carpark next to the bridge or a larger one on the west side of the river which means a longer walk to the beach. Dont try to park next to the beach as it is private and you have to drive down very narrow streets. Try the Coddyshack outside of Looe for fish and chips. Rough looking place, but the food is good. Padstow is nice, but crowded and parking not easy. If you take the longish walk down the river towards the estuary, the beaches are clean and uncrowded. I live near Launceston and know the area.

Stretch of coast between Boscastle and Trebarwith Strand used to be spectacular, and includes the more touristy Tintagel in the middle..

Been few years since I was there mind but we had a great family holiday in and around all the places mentioned above.

I see that Porthcurno & the Minack have already been mentioned, so I'd add Nanjizal Beach to the list. Probably worth giving Penzance an afternoon. St Austell is, or at least as far as I know now, a nice place to stop and try the local brew in some real old Kernow pubs. With 'proper Cornish dart boards. (You'll hear "proper" a lot in Kernow.) I used to live in a small village called Sennen, right by Lands End, great beach at the Cove plus the Old Success Inn, should be called the Really, really Old Success Inn; If it is still there worth the visit, ask about the ghosts... Heh, I could go on and on about Penwith & the rest of Kernow, love it to bits great place to visit, even better to live there.

Kynance Cove is probably the most beautiful beach in the UK. Mullion's not to shabby either.
