Whatever happened to Roni Size? This award is a bit like being chosen to do the James Bond theme song. One big hit then back to obscurity for some of these artistes....

Lest we forget the music crime of when M People won.

I hate M People and their insipid soul music, which was for surburban white people who were too shallow to buy a 'Best of Stax Records' compilation for their awful dinner parties.

Might as well as given the award to those other 'cultural appropriators' UBf***ing40 or Aswad.

Signing Off is one of the bestest albums ever. Mind you their other output doesn't come anywhere near.

You've got a thing about the middle class haven't you.

Tbf, 'Moving on Up' sounded fantastic when it was played at the end of the 'Hopkins' play-off final.

To be fair, 'The Ketchup Song' would have sounded great after that.

Too much snobbery about music these days.

I don't like Grime myself, but don't decry those that do.

People that diss other genres disappoint me... it is fashionable to say nasty stuff about Coldplay, Phil Collins, Simply Red, etc.... but the fact is they are all successful acts with a large following and deserve respect.

I'm looking forward to watching Kings of Leon on Jools Holland later... I think they're a top band but I'm sure I've heard people on here saying what a load of bollocks they are.

Opinions..... that's all it is.

Well said that person. Not a Coldplay fan, but I was at Glasto this year and they were superb. Also loved Art Garfunkle - To be able to see a legend performing S & G hits will stay with me forever. Wolf Alice were brilliant too. I love all music, some just more than others whether it's new, old or just middle of the road - Bah humbug to snobbery :-)
