Mate, they dress like carbon copies of each other. I have never been out with a group of mates and all of us are wearing the same outfit & face scarves.

I bet you've worn similar jeans or shirt as your mates. Maybe not a matching face scarf, as that isn't acceptable in 'society', but maybe matching cravat?!? (Tip o'the cap to the Holmesdale Cravatics).

People have been wearing the same outfits to football for a hundred years. People used to cover their heads in hats or flat caps a hundred years ago, before moving on with terrace fashion, some inspired by the scousers' thieving trips to Europe donned the Sergio Tacchinis, others with a different look all together.

I wore blue jeans, and a black rainproof hooded jacket, chiefly because I seem to only own black hooded rainproof jackets. Does that make me a carbon copy? Or am I ok because I wore suede Nike Blazers, and not white adidas classics?

Ranging from the 'Fashion Police' to the 'Don't Offend the Viewers at Home Brigade', there does seem to be a marked increase in the number of pant wetters on here these days.

If there's any blame to be portioned out, it's down to media portrayal of what society 'should be', and people being far too easily offended, and taking it as their right not to be offended.
Possibly another reason to give Murdoch the Agincourt salute.

They kept banging on about this during the Olympics. "it's gender stereotyping", "it's sexist".

Then you see any interview with the women participating and 99% of them refer to themselves, or their team mates as... girls.

Case in point, 20 seconds in roughly.

Not having a go at you, I could see you were having a laugh.

It was endless articles containing things like these:

The Cambridge study also found that it's much more common for women to be referred to as "girls" than it is for men to be called "boys".
"Many commentators say 'girls' in sport even if they know they should say 'women'. This is because they think it's a trivial issue to do with political correctness and they forget in the heat of competition," says Woodward.
"But when you call a woman a girl you are actually infantilising her. A girl is a child. Women's bodies have long been infantilised in popular culture as youth is seen as attractive."

What a load of bollocks.

Optimistic as ever

Makes perfect sense to me.

You'd have to take yourself out of 1st world society entirely with no ability to reach any media or popular culture, then have a few generations of ancestry, avoiding any 'inbreeding issues', before you could see if the media had any affect to how you referred to females.

I would often refer to older women as 'girls' as it's light-hearted jovial 'banter' which makes them feel a bit younger. Much like when you're chatting up a girl and her mum happens to be there, you ask if that's her sister. It might annoy the daughter a bit, but the mum usually loves it, and the daughter knows you're only buttering up the Doris (so to speak). This in itself is all down to media or cultural pre-conditioning of what is acceptable, much in the same way acceptable humour changes from country to country.

Led and perpetuated by the media - who only want to sell their product in an efficient a way as possible, again, the problem is the pant wetters. Too many people getting offended or being offended of behalf of other people.

What are the HF doing about....

Elephants being slaughtered for the Ivory trade?

Rhino's being slaughtered for their horns to be turned into Chinese Medicine?

Moon Bears kept in tiny iron crates and farmed for their stomach bile to be turned into Chinese Medicine?

Bullfighting?

Cruelty to Donkeys?

Halal Meat?

I want to know!

Selhurst to be gender neutral..

Arthur wait to be renamed something gender neutral.. ditto Wright and bright lounges..

Holmesdale upper and lower to be renamed as they currently have class connotations or the insinuation that one level is better than the other.

Let's scrap the red and blue colours while we're at it. Plays too much to girls being in red and boys in blue stereotypes. No black white or brown colouring either as they are too racial. I vote for a nice green or what about purple..

Ban any singing of the song 'When I was a young boy' ... anyone trying to get the crowd singing it to be imprisoned / fined / flogged / all the above

Pete and Alice's costumes to be burnt on a giant bonfire at half time. The idea they could be boyfriend and girlfriend is polluting and corrupting the minds of our young supporters and it must be stopped with immediate effect. No more mascots.

Let's take back control

The HF have graced Selhurst and 'helped' the atmosphere for years, yet they don't seem to have grown in number, occupying the same small corner.
Any reason for this?

No No NO

The Animals should come first!

I want Selhurst to be a Donkey Sanctuary first and foremost and all other sporting activities cancelled.

The kids would love it too.

Fcuk Palace and Football.... I want my own agenda to stop animal cruelty and suffering to be on everyone's mind 24/7.

How dare you suggest donkeys are given first refusal on the use of the ground. Completely out of order
