My thoughts on the game after just watching it at st Mary's are a lot different than watching palace on tele! I never get to go to games much so being able to go to st Mary's tonight was a pleasure. However and I don't care what other people think but hey it's just my opinion. I know we made big changes tonight but we were so Sunday league !
Henessey.. Ok I thought couple of great saves
Ward.. Ok
Delaney.. Ok
Kelly.. Ok
Fryers.. This guy is so bad I could play better
Mutch.. Crap
Cabaye.. Crap
Sako.. Crap
Zaha.. Crap out played by saints guys marking him even when he switched sides.
Lee.. Crap least he tries hard bless him
Wickham.. You my friend need a new career your crap at football, wouldn't know the meaning of attacking a goal if it hit him. He is so bad !!
Benteke when he came on straight away noticed a difference in quality when he fed that little through ball to wickham was quality. Wickham wasn't even on the same planet, shocking player.
Puncheon.. He looked good showed his presence started bossing Lee about which I could was good to see.

Generally thought we played bad, We haven't got a strong squad in depth at all saints had a better set of b team players!

However first 11 against there first 11 I think we would give them a good shout.

Gotta say it again wickham you are so crap it's unbelievable you play premiership football

Well let's hope you keep away more often.

It was always going to go the way it did when we made the changes we did.
Fryers first game at this level since Newcastle in the same competition how long ago?
Cabaye and Mutch short of match sharpness , Sako not played since last season...
These sort of things not only effect the players in question by those around them who are thinking and moving at a sharper pace.
More worries about Dann.
4 fit defenders to go into a huge game Saturday and it looks like all will start.
On a side note I have defended Wickham on here since he turned up but he was a huge disappointment for me today.
He looked uninterested and would go as far to say he looked as if he was sulking.

I think it's about 55. Nice work if you can get it.

Didn't expect anything else tonight. We don't have the depth to even consider trying to make a proper go of the league cup. The injury to Dann is a killer.

If it's the case that some think it's acceptable to put in a dire performance because we've made changes why should fans continue to buy tickets and travel to these games? someone said mutch and cabaye was never going to work together. Well why bother playing them together then?! Ridiculous!

We're the red and blue army!!

Ah great, the Hol is back to normal. People that openly admit they don't go often slagging off players they rarely see play. Got to love this site...

When you buy tickets for these games you know that many changes to the team will take place. When that happens their is a big chance that the team will not be anywhere near as coordinated as the usual PL team format. What do the 'fans' that travel to an away league cup game on a mid-week night expect? A full A team? It was bad enough having Dann get an injury.

PL takes priority and the fans that go to these cup games should know that by now.

If it is true that the EFL Cup brings 100k of prize money (and no European spot) if you win it, we should send the youth team with the youth team manager. Let him pick 3 or 4 fringe players who need minutes for a puncher's chance.

We have chosen to thin down the squad and focus on quality. I see the merit in that. But no needless risk should be taken with the 1st team.

To put key players at risk in a match like this is insane. f*** the romance of the cup.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Shouldn't bother you in Perth, the chances of you going to a game are remote.
Everyone with a brain knows weaken teams are fielded in this silly cup, which changes its name every year.
If people choose to travel and pay for a tickets its up to them. Usually the stands are empty in early rounds.

Whilst it would have been nice to keep a winning run together i am glad we rested quite a few players and gave others a chance. Some onm here have got to remember quite a few players are not match fit so look off the pace. There did look a lack of desire from some and am sure we will not be seeing them until the FA Cup rounds.
