Burnley away

When I got my ticket for the Burnley match, things were looking rosey and I thought if I'm ever going to see us win then this is a good match to go to.

Now, however, I'm not so sure. Burnley are a well drilled and organised side who remind me of us under Pulis; a frustrating team to play against. We have to work on a plan 'B' and 'C' if we are unable to break them down. My only concern is that we don't actually have these plans, hence why our win percentage in 2016 is atrocious. Now we are an established Premier League Football Club with some quality international players in our squad, I am of the opinion that beating the newly promoted teams is a must and anything else is not good enough.

Scoring goals doesn't seem to be so much of an issue thank goodness but we look so frail at the back.

Can't wait for Saturday but at the same time the feeling of being yet again disappointed is expectant.

Burnley recently beat Everton 2-1 at Home and only lost narrowly, 0-1 to Arsenal at 'Turf Moor'.
They made a couple of decent midfield signings in pre-season, Jeff Hendrick for £10.5 Mill and Steven Defour for £7.35 Mill. Andre Gray has served his 4 match suspension and played at man Utd.But they do have Patrick Bamford in their ranks !

They will be a tough nut to crack and a 4th consecutive defeat for us will of course set off the 'Anti-Pardew' brigade on here !

My biggest worry is that they are very strong from set pieces and our defending from them is woeful

5 in 32 would be an ominous 'win streak'

This season, 4 of Burnley's 8 goals have come from set-pieces.

As long as we compete and show true Palace team spirit, I do not mind a draw. Not the static first halves we have seen vs WBA, West Ham and Liverpool.

They will be tough at home for sure. 10 of their points total gained at home. Only 4 goals conceded. Mind you we are better away from home on current form and scoring goals. Could be a good game.

Burnley are not nearly as solid as some would have you believe, they give up the most shots per game in the league, the most shots on target in the league, and also offer hardly anything going forward.

They've had Tom Heaton to thank for their 'solidity' so far - he made 11 saves against Utd I think!

Any team that concedes 11 shots on target in a game is not going to keep a clean sheet very often!

We should beat them, unless Heaton plays another miracle game or we keep giving up cheap goals.

Hope it does not happen but if we lose against an in form Burnley, and other results go against us,we could very well be fourth from bottom this weekend, after all the early talk of Europe just prior to the last international break, where we were the in form side.
All we have now from AP is that the the wrong ref was selected !!
