I thought City took it to the extreme, players going down holding their face, stretchers being called for,and then the "injured parties" straight back on as if nothing happened.
For a team with their wealth of talent the way they behaved after their 2nd goal was embarrassing and disgraceful.
Some of their players couldn't even leave the field at the end of play with any dignity, instead they behaved like a bunch of gloating yobs, and their manager wasn't much better.

Totally agree with

I don't normally watch MOTD when we lose but as we were second up, I gave it a go. The highlights were fair, but what was most shocking was the defending at the corner for their second goal. I have said on another post that I saw Wickham looking at the bench for information as to who he should mark as the corner was coming over, and lo and behold Toure got it front of him while he dithered. But what I couldn't see at the match was Cabaye and Puncheon taking such poor positions at the corner, allowing City to cross along the ground without any interference. If Palace have really been working on corners, then one of the first requirements must be to prevent a low corner getting into the six yard box. I believe in what Pardew is trying to do, but he must bear some responsibility for what can only be described as a comer calamity. All the effort the team made during the match was undone by an unbelievable level of sloppiness.

Unfortunately, that's poor sportsmanship for you and it seems to be entrenched into the game these days. Something for the rule makers to address.

If you are called off you get off immediately not walk around shaking everyone's hand. More stretchers on the field yesterday than I've ever seen before in a game at Palace.

Wickham was on Toure. Toure had the advantage as he knew where the corner was going. In that situation all you can do is react to his move, but as we all know, by then it's too late. Why we left the path through to the middle of our area unprotected is the real question. We are constantly making good performances count for nothing.

Funnily enough i have been pleasantly surprised how many pundits this weekend have said that we have plenty to be positive about. Then again they don't have an agenda like shearer who even this time last year couldn't say a single positive thing about us. Pardew in (for now)

..must admit it did look a thousand times worse on MOTD than watching it when it happened, it all smacks of the new ref laws of no body contact to me and our players petrified of losing a game they didn't deserve to lose through a silly penalty.

From what I saw tompkins was marking him but didn't move when he did then stood there with his head in his hands.

That poor marking and Cabaye and Punch holding hands had nothing to do with refs instructed to clamp down on holding. There was nobody any f***ing where near him. Sorry but this junior sh1t could destroy us.
