I’m totally against BFS as a replacement for Pardew. He would rip up the team, recruit a load of big cloggers and play terrible ancient football. It’ll take years to unwind. Pulis is better at that style of football than he is and he obviously isn’t returning.

Personally, I’d rather get relegated than have BFS inflict that upon our club.

3 years ago we were promoted by the skin of our teeth. If we get relegated it could be a generation before we're in the top flight again. Everything and anything should be considered to keep us up.

If he can keep that shower of s***e Sunderland in the premiership then he will definitely keep Palace up.

Never liked him but never liked Warnock either.
I'd rather have him inside the tent Pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in.

Sam Allardyce would reportedly consider taking on the manager's role at Crystal Palace should the club part ways with Alan Pardew.

The 62-year-old has been out of work since losing the England coaching job in September, just 67 days after he was hired by the Football Association.

Allardyce, who oversaw just one game in charge of the national side, was dismissed after being secretly filmed by undercover reporters from The Telegraph appearing to discuss how to get around the FA's ban on third-party ownership of players.

According to The Mirror, the former West Ham United boss has told friends that he is keen to return to management, and would be willing to listen to a potential offer from the Eagles.

It is believed that the London outfit would consider Allardyce, and they have already made contingency plans in the event that Pardew is booted out of the club, but no approaches have been made as yet.

Pardew has witnessed his team suffer six defeats on the trot - a run that has not befallen Palace since November 2013.

The club currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, just one place above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Lets hope we pull this one off

I do not believe for one minute Parish will want Fat Sam.

1) After the debacle with Pulis I don't imagine he'll want to risk another shady dealer
2) Pulis aside, Parish seems to favour a Palace connection (for better or worse)
3) My opinion is that the board want to see more progressive football which SA will almost certainly not bring to the club

My personal view is that I would rather keep AP than replace him with SA. It would likely only be a stop gap before we had to pay out another settlement to get rid of him when invariably things went down hill.

I think we have enough talent in the squad to attract a manager like Mancini, if he were interested, and someone like that might be able to get the best out of the likes of Zaha, Cabaye and Bentenke. It would also help us attract some quality players in January.

Unlike most I'm not ready to condemn Pardew just yet, as I still think he can turn things around if we can steal a win, but if we do get rid of him I don't want another plaster I want someone who can take us forwards.

Not for me - I think he's 'damaged' enough to no be able to command any level of respect from pros.

I'd rather have Gus Hiddink until the end of the season & see where we are at then. It's worked elsewhere on more than one occasion.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

First of all don't shoot the messenger!

A friend of mine is currently working up in Sunderland. At his hotel were Jonjo Shelvey and his agent having a few drinks. His agent was a little inebriated and they started talking once Shelvy had left. Apparently he said that Big Sam was nailed on to be appointed within the next two weeks.

I have my doubts that a pis5ed agent would give away that sort of info but let's hope it's true

Well I always have my doubts about when people post things like this too. My friend however wouldn't lie about this, supports Utd (he is from Manchester strangely!), couldn't really care less about us and called me to tell me this as he thought I would like to know. Of course it could just be the agent being off his face too. Still I thought I would share.

I have absolutely no 'credible' source to speak of though other than this though so I guess we will see what happens.

there are untold managers out there, other than hodgson, allardyce, and coleman. If we did appoint sam, id rather it be on a short contract (performance related). i think he'd steady the ship. but if he wanted a long contract, id say no. we need a forward thinking manager, but one who can see our strengths. we havent the personnel to play the expansive style. we have players to hurt other teams, but they arent being utilised. too many round pegs trying to fit into square holes.
we had a decent squad before, and even with expensive additions, mildew cant get a tune out of them.

It could be that the agent was expressing a personal view and not stating what he had heard from a good source.
