Pardew season 1: Achieved a top half finish. Season 2: Reached the FA Cup final and kept us up.

Season 3: We're only a 3rd of the way through the season.

All this talk of the record in 2016 is ridiculous. Titles and relegation are decided on results over a season not a calendar year. Leicester are probably one of the best teams over the calendar year yet they are down near relegation. Chelsea are top of the league and have had an awful overall year. Lets not twist things Pardew has not had a single season you can call a bad season overall.

Furthermore is there any manager that could come in and do a better job? The buffoon Allardyce? Jurgen Klinsmann? Bitches please. We sack Pardew and we go down just like what happened to Newcastle when they got ideas above their station. Pardew should be given til at least end of this year.

For some reason in my office at the moment if you use the words "Pardew" and "defence" in the same sentence everyone pi$$es themselves laughing.

Is that the sound of clutching at straws that I can hear.

Pardew has the worst record in all four leagues in 2016 although it doesn't suit your agenda to admit it

Indeed - cannot dispute the facts.

At the start of 2016 we were in 7th place after 19 games. We then only won 2 of our remaining 19 games last season This season we have only won 3 of our 13 games and lost 6 "On the bounce". One has to consider the record over this period, we cannot just ignore what went on in the second half of last season. One follows the other !!!!

It isn't unreasonable to say we could survive relatively comfortably in both this season and last despite him having that record though.

Don't get me wrong, it is appalling and I genuinely can't see that any other manager at any other club would have survived this long with that record. But we don't get relegated due to 2016 form. We get relegated for 2016/17 form.

The problem for me is the longer Pardew is at the helm the more instances there likely to be of him pissing the players off. He has a habit of hanging them out to dry in press conferences etc and distancing himself from 'their' poor performances. To me that just erodes team spirit and as that is unlikely to improve, I can't see him turning this around, unlike two years ago when we had a good team morale despite being in a similar position. If he stays I think we'll go down or be very close to it.

Look on the bright side as if he does that his replacement will have a much easier job of turning things round by just putting an arm round the players and building them up.

Hopefully he will have some tactical nous too

If it was the first 6 games of the season, meaning we would be bottom on zero points he would be gone! Couple of wins had papered over last seasons poor form. He has to go..

Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in

Pardew has not had a bad season overall? We have the worst record in all 4 divisions in 2016. It's not rocket science. The FA Cup run simply papered over the cracks and we ended up ballsing it up in extra time. Giving him till the end of the year is blind optimism, unless the Pardew apologists wake up and get their heads out of the sand.

Still, if we end up with (and this is a long shot) 18 points from our next six games, I'll come back on here and admit that you were right.

That's over two seasons fella, it's not rocket science.

I'm not in the pro or against camps, just strapped in to the rollercoaster.

I was referring to his 2nd full season in charge Newcastle where they barely avoided relegation. Nothing wrong with being strapped in to the Palace rollercoaster either, but if we don't buck up our ideas, it's going to end up crashing into the Championship with a 10 year stay.
