I finally went to Pardew out last night. It was the substitutions in the second half that did it. Anything less than 2 points from the next 2 games and he NEEDS to go.

He seems to not know if he is an old school "football man" chancer or a new age "football philosophy" charlatan. It's football, no one knows. So.
Keep him, with a view to kicking him upstairs to hire a competent coaching staff (his only chance of a job at a premier league club).
That is if he is willing to get out of the manager ego game (doubtful).
He will then not be able to effect things from the touchline and also free to fire a head coach after a poor run of results.
In charge of overall strategy but not game tactics.
A stable coaching team is essential.
This, of course, means trusting our players to be good enough to stay up in the meantime.
Or kick him downstairs and out into the car park.

It's good to keep an opened mind, but not so open that your brains fall out.

IN - Give the geezer more time

To many times have clubs chopped and changed managers.....were not in dire straights yet.......just look at Leeds, Birm, Blackburn, Pompey & Charlton to name a few clubs as examples we dont want to follow.
Even to the extent of Hull......they've been up & down from the pl to the champ in the space we've managed to hold our own in the premier league.

This isnt a Mickey mouse league, and i know results and performances aren't all that at the minute, but people need to remember were not Barcelona......were Crystal Palace who are used to the yo yo nature of football.

Parish is trying to build a team around a man who he geniuelly believes in.....i trust him. Look at the players we've got at the club. Ok some of them are not performing all that (Townsend....cough cough) but who would of thought 2-3 years ago, even when we were in the prem we could of signed someone of Benteke's statue.

Parish knows, chopping and changing manager isnt the right thing to do, just look at utd with fergie and what they've achieved in that era.....why cant we be the same in 20 years time? Not saying pardew will be here in 20 years time, but what i am saying is that if we have a stable team, a stable manager, new infastructure & a huge catchment area theres no reason in 5 years time we are really making some noise in the league and become an even more attractive club/

People being to impatient here i think

PARDEW IN.....For now!!!

Walking away from the Liberty Stadium I was a definite out but now I am not so sure. The immediate point of getting rid of Pards is to improve results but ideally we would want someone who is also committed to the club for the longer term. I think we need to go for a definite upgrade with a record of achievement in the Prem not a panic appointment. So far no-one on here has come up with such a candidate. Sacking Pards and leaving Millen or some other caretaker in charge is the worst of both worlds. I do not think instability at the club will help us. Secondly there are only two weeks to go to the transfer window in which we desperately need to strengthen the defence at least. Sacking the manager without an immediate replacement could lead to us missing out on any targets. Despite all the frustrations with Pardew which I share, I think we are very close to being a decent team which with competent defending, game management and refereeing would be in the top half of the table. I am therefore a reluctant in. We are stuck with Pardew for now and have to just hope he can sort it out.

How many points lost through poor team selections / tactics / substitutions and an inability to close out a game do you really need to see ?

Throw in sulky looking and overweight players, frequent public criticism of individual players, crass and ridiculous media soundbytes, a thinning squad that continually pick up injuries etc. etc.

Oh sorry - and s*** results for nearly a year.

Losing the dressing room is just a cliché and the players are still trying but for sure they will be able to see what everyone else can.

You're counting on Pardew achieving this because he's a good manager. Well he isn't so that utopia of your's needs ripping up and getting the best candidate in pretty soon. It's already later than it should be snd the longer we leave it the worse it will get.

I come on this site to hear the opinions of like minded fans. The kind of fans who support the club. Which, at the moment includes Alan Pardew. You are obviously not one of those fans.

It seems you like to hear the same thing regurgitated again and again. I find that immature, much like your response.

You are getting your wish at the moment. Relish it.

I really wanted him to do well (Still do). We improved so much when he first came here.
He felt like such an upgrade on Pulis - the excitement was back. We were taking the game to other teams.

BUT Swansea was inept, Hull was disappointing and last night was marred by a stupid substitution.

We're not a bad side and going forward we often look brilliant but we've hit a wall and we always seem 2 minutes from disaster.

I want to hang on to him because I fear us doing a Fulham and getting in some useless manager and getting relegated.

And I don't dislike Pardew - sure he makes some odd comments - but doesn't everyone under the PL spotlight? I prefer him as a man to Mourinho, Mike Phelan, Fat Sam, Holloway, Freedman, Pulis and many other managers who've been in the PL.

But then I remind myself we need the results and he's not getting them. I imagine West Ham fans are going through the same thing - slipped close to the bottom but managed by a guy who's had them playing some great football.

I feel it's right he goes if there's a better replacement but I wouldn't be deliriously happy to see the back of him - more disappointed it didn't quite work out when it seemed so close.

You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name.

Spot on. It's the idiotic vitriol towards him, from some on here, I don't get.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.
